Well now I fell like a Dumb Ass$400 for the .5 is tempting, Be easier if we new the price of the Beast stand.
The reason you have the options today is because he went against the grain and produced some high quality expensive stuff.
Agreed. Thats why everyone is pushing for a ".75".The stand looks badass. I like the dimensions and weight. About perfect in my eyes. A .5 but with 6” more inches of platform and a normal seat height at only a pound more.
I am not sure about the stick attachment. I would prefer to have the sticks closer to the stand. I would probably make another threaded rod to hold the sticks together in a bundle and use their one stick attachment bar to carry the sticks flipped up flat against the post.
The Echo is not 3 lbs lighter than the Alpha. If you don’t like the price then just wait until Lone Wolf or Novix comes out with their updated Assault. They dropped the weight of the Alpha by 3 pounds. If they do the same with the Assault then your looking at pretty much the same stand for half the price.
Not a fan of the stick attachment. Jutting the sticks out like that will feel heavier than having them close to the stand. For anyone interested, they posted the back story on the beast stand. Kind of interesting. I admit I do like the way the beast sticks lock onto the stand.

More like 650 shipped.600 bucks shipped, I believe I just saw!! No way, the .5 LWCG is lighter and every bit as nice. I love saddle hunting and I do it out of a small treestand. I get the best of both worlds that way. Sorry but the Beast is dead at that much money. Shawn

Anyone complaining about the price had a chance to see how much a 2x4 sheet of 3/4” 6061 aluminum would cost you?
anyone complaining about the price see how much having said piece of aluminum water jetted, or CNC’d to shape?
anyone complaining about the price see how many hours it would take you to do the above things right the first time, and have a functioning stand?
anyone complaining about the price consider the cost of adding all the components necessary to complete the project, after getting the first 3 steps exactly right?
anyone complaining about the price remember the exact same conversation around LWCG stuff, that’s now just mainstream? Along with OOAL?
anyone complaining about the price understand the markup that machined metal goods get, is nothing compared to the markup that saddle companies having their diapers sewn in China get? Like 2 or 3x profit, versus 10x profit.
anyone complaining about the price take any marketing or economics courses?
Dan could cast a stand if the IP wasn’t protected, and sell it at a lower price.
Dan could fabricate and weld a stand and sell it at a lower price.
Dan could sell a stand with similar size specs as other stands, and maybe sell at a lower price.
Im not saying it’s good or bad, or worth it to me or you or not. But Id like someone to show me the sub 10lb hang on that fits well inside your hips and shoulders, and a person who’s not 5’8 can sit in it without their feet hanging off. Do these features matter to you if you’re broke and 5’8 and hunt private land? No. But the complaints about the price say nothing about the product. Only something about you.
for the record, I’m generally disappointed about the grip that business has on hunting, and how it’s turned it into a commodity. Having said that, it’s largely responsible for us having lots of public ground to hunt. We should be thankful, instead of poopooing. Also, no one forces anyone to buy. Game the system - hunt the land it provides, and don’t buy the gear! But we could do with a little less whining about it.

There s a YouTuber "Michigan outdoors" I believe he uses a similar rod to hold his beast sticks together you may wanna have a lookThe stand looks badass. I like the dimensions and weight. Dan talks about the 300lb weight rating, LWCG actually advertises it. Real world use is another story.
It splits the difference between the .5 and 1.0 In weight.
It’s not really a .5 with 6” more platform and normal seat height, its closer to a 1.0 with 15% weight reduction, a longer platform, and a smaller seat, at least in my eyes.
Here is my perspective.
Like his sticks, Dan built this stand to suit his style. Doesn’t mean you can use it otherwise, but it makes sense as a mobile hang on stand. Lightweight, narrow, platform your toes don’t hang off.
I see the .5 primarily as a hybrid saddle option, weight on par with the XL platforms, lighter and smaller than a stand. Lower seat works for a knee rest.
Doesn‘t mean others won’t be happy using them differently.
If LWCG stands start breaking and THB stand holds up, well that $150 - $250 extra will be worth it. Dan talks about the 300lb weight rating, LWCG actually advertises it. Real world use is another story.
VS 1.0, as a stand..
The extra foot room of THB stand makes a lot of sense, and the weight savings is nice. The narrow profile is somewhat mitigated if you use the proprietary attachment method, depending on length of sticks. The 1.0 packs flat if you use their sticks and want that. I like the brown color of THB stand.
