Hello everyone!
Excited to join in on the conversation with fellow members. I see most of people are from the states and a few fellow Canucks! I live in the northern part of southern Ontario.

I just started saddle hunting this season but I'm no stranger to heights. I work as an arborist so it seemed like an easy transition from a treestand. Currently setup with an old climbing harness (Buckingham ergovation) and a set of spurs. I'd like to change over to a set of climbing sticks( how I found the forum- searching for diy climbing sticks).
Anyways looking forward to reading lots of threads and getting involved.

Andy

Welcome fellow Canuck!
I love "I live in the northern part of southern Ontario". There are a lot of folks who really don't get how big this province is. That puts you anywhere between Barrie and North Bay, from Georgian Bay to the Quebec border. I figure that is about the size of New Jersey...

Haha thanks! If I'm talking to someone from SW Ontario that's what I say but really I barely live north of 7 in Peterborough. I hunt the very southern edge of the shield, lots of crown and conservation land around, but lots of hunters too!

Listen that is a great area. You have basically unlimited public ground inside an hour of you. Not all of it is easy to hunt, but it is there for you to try. I hunt SE of Bancroft every rifle season, and I love it in there. Yes, there is some hunting pressure near the roads and majors accesses, but we don't have a hard time getting away from the crowds. Down here in Hamilton, its a different story...

Good luck next week...
