The SH Membership has gone live. Only SH Members have access to post in the classifieds. All members can view the classifieds. If it comes with a cam cleat and a two step attached webbing aider, it is very very interesting. And a step that looks like a mini platform... like a scout.
That looks really cool. It looks like an improved EWO stick which is a fantastic stick for one sticking if you add a cam cleat.

It is a custom stick that he and a friend fabricated. He was very tight lipped on if he was going to have it manufactured or not. Regardless, it’s cool.

@ckossuth and @Squirrels had them at saddlepalooza along with some pretty nifty accessories. Every time I write off a climbing method someone comes up with something that makes me want to give it another shot. Last year I wrote off one sticking and rappelling as more trouble than they are worth. Then Carl comes up with something and makes it look too easy not to give it another shot.

Give it another shot. Especially if you rappel down
Do it 20 times. 15 minutes 20 times over a month. Then it will be easy
Watch Chris Cains video and Joe Wallings video several times until you pick up all the little details.
It is easier if you have a came cleat like the stick above.

@Ontariofarmer I think what I liked about @ckossuth setup was the full system. I won’t get into the details because I don’t know how to separate a diy guys stuff and a chief designers proprietary designs. I would probably give it another shot if I had a care package delivered from Carl.
Even just getting the rope down and how he stores it. I wouldn’t expend any more energy or make more noise if I just cut the tree down to get my rope back. Meanwhile Carl just jiggles and pulls his rope one time and he’s rolling it up and going home. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy the rappell if only I didn’t have the rope to deal with once my feet hit the ground.
I have been working on removing the rope. It can be frustrating. The way I have done it lately I have had no problems.

What specifically do you want to know? He and I do it exactly the same.
This. Is there something special ^^^^^
about how he pulls the rope down. Pulling the rope down is sometimes an issue with branches.
And anything else he does that is different. I am always looking to improve.
