New to saddle hunting. Help please with saddle selection.........

Cruzr XC is hard to beat. Call Chad and discuss sizing. And I'd do the Cobra buckle upgrade also. It might not be the perfect saddle after you figure out what you want, but no one (I've read) has anything negative to say regarding quality or comfort.

Also be willing to accept that sometime the newer things are better. Go outside your comfort level. Since you are here in a saddle hunting forum tell me you are willing to try something new! I always think of the phrase "cant teach old dog new tricks" a lot when people refuse to try out saddle hunting when I talk to them about my new obsession. If you are set on getting a new saddle, buy one of the newer designs coming out. Some of the veterans here has been saddle hunting in the same saddle for decades, but what works for them does not mean it work for you. I think John Eberhart still use the same Anderson Sling he used since the 80s even if help DESIGNED some of the newer ones. I would consider the new Transformer or the Method or the new Cruzr, take advantage of new technology and innovative ideas that has been exploding in the saddle market!

BUT if price is an issue or you want to be more hands on:
You should consider trying a DIY fleece saddle at ground level. I have not done it because personally (got a Recon and a baby girl for Christmas before I could start building one) but others have said its one of the more comfortable option and its cheap to do.
