No Shame Coffee Thread

I've been grabbing handfuls of yaupon leaves while I've been out in the woods....all natural caffeinated tea. I'm not the biggest coffee person and could easily replace with this tea. Sun dry the leaves, crush the dried leaves and put inside a coffee filter and twist tie closed and use like a tea bag. I like the taste but my wife likes some honey in there....View attachment 75385View attachment 75386
I’ve never heard of those

Recently picked up a Nespresso pod machine for at-home espressos. Never would have guessed I would own such a thing but got turned onto them during a recent business trip. Love it. The different brands and intensity selections for the pods keeps it interesting. Enjoying it so much I just picked up another machine to have at the office.

My fellow coffee snobs, I wanted to bring your attention to something I found and now love: Trader Joe's Instant Cold Brew. It dissolves in water really well no matter the temp, and it doesn't taste like instant coffee. Also, it is just as strong as real cold brew. When I'm running short on time to make real coffee, I pour a couple spoonfuls into a glass with 2 or 3 oz of water and take it like a shot. I imagine this stuff would be great for backpacking in any season since you don't need to use fuel to boil water and especially great for those hot summer mornings.

Gonna make me show my coffee snobery. If its room temp or has ice in it, it isnt coffee. ;)

I’m going to try it! We don’t have Trader Joe’s here but my bro in law does where he lives.

If you've never been to a Trader Joe's, it is a weird place. The people that work and shop there are really enthusiastic about it––not unlike a cult, lol. That said, they have some neat stuff!

We had one just to travel with. It went on an overseas business trip and despite the appropriate convertor it took out the mini fridge and lights in the hotel wing, lol. Handy little machine though.

Living in South Florida got me hooked on "Cuban Jet Fuel". Thats what the guy who taught the coast guard captain license courses called it. I think we would just ask for a cafe Cubano. ITs kinda like some super strong black coffee with sugar whipped in it or something. Never really understood what it was...some kind of Cuban sorcery. All the gas stations in Miami sold it if they had someone making coffee behind the counter. It came in a paper shot glass with weird little tiny thimble shot glasses to divide it up. Woke your arse up tho! if i was spearfishing before work i couldnt drink any. it would make my heart race and cut my breath hold in half.

If im hunting i pound whatever the cheapest energy drink is i can find at the gas station. i pee in scrapes/mock scrapes and if i drink coffee i have some strong smellin coffee pee. prolly not the best lure. i used to worry about pee ruining my hunt but i truly believe it works to your advantage now.

For the Kcup guys, the Sam’s Club Members Mark Colombian is the best Kcup I have found. 100 count for under 30 bucks and tastes great.

Y’all can crucify me if you wish, but try a little butter in your coffee. You can thank me later.

I like their French Roast.

However I recently found a French press coffee maker at the local Goodwill for like 3 bucks. Had all parts and works great. Now I need to figure out what coffee I like. Started with Sumatra.
And do I want to take a yeti of hot water or get a small stove for the water? Decisions Decisions lol.
