Novix tree stand!

No problem with Chippawa or Loc-on, would love to see them come back.

But, my experience of cast / machined platforms is that the platform is quieter underfoot in varied conditions.

This is a strike against other good stands that are not cast / machined, including one of my favorites, Millennium.

This thread reminds me of my friend who only hunts with M7, and carries it around in his hand walking in and out of sets. He brings extra straps, spends first day or two scouting and hanging straps. Then goes in and hunts, carrying the stand by hand to any preset. Sticks and pack on back. He’s killed 130+“ deer on public land in the Midwest the last three years doing this. No backpack straps. No way to lash all the crap down. Some hunts in near 0* temperatures. No complaining. He’s 6’1 250. he walks many miles.

Why is this stand not available anymore?

The windwalker has a cult like following, I had a couple, great stand during that time, I gotta tell you though these new stands are just awesome and I could never see myself going back to any hollow tube stand, it’s always good to have options and I hope Locon does well, but I think it’s gonna be a challenge unless they really step up and try some new ideas, the market has softened up on those old windwalkers with all the new offerings.

Even if this new stand is a rinse & repeat of existing stands, it might make it so I can buy a used assault 2 a lot cheaper for my dad this season!

I hunted my windwalker all last year. And many many years prior. I've owned a few. I've also been aware that someone has been working to bring them back, and hope they do. I've never had major issues with popping or noise in the cold(I'm int rhe north east). It's a hell of a lot quieter.tjan the summit steel ladder stand my father has setup ony property. I think it's all what you ge used to and have practice using...

My original windwalker and fleece pack are what I keep going back to regardless of the number of saddled I have owned..

All that being said, I've been watching novix, and am looking forward to seeing what they release!!!

Width, 1 hole space narrower around the cables

Nice price point...sure looks like an updated narrower assault...Almost like the original...IItdoesn't dip below the 10lb mark all in so it no longer has my interest...
