Official admit you fell of your stick thread

I am not laughing at you, been their.
I can’t get over all the noise(and movement) with so many moves, it just seems like a super frustrating way to climb. One stick with a 3 step aider under 2lb(could get that down further if I thought it mattered) and I’m at hunting height(over 15 ft) in 2 moves/less than 5 min from finding a tree. Don’t see an incentive for all the extra work. I’d be into SRT if I had a place I could do presets but for what I’m doing now all that 2tc noise on the tree seems excessive, unless I’m hunting from a maple or the one beech tree in the forest. And I’m in a low deer density area, so if I get busted getting setup in the dark I have to change spots because chances are it’ll be dead there for days.
So, maybe I’ll give it another try next summer but I can’t wrap my head around how it could be a better way than my stick, unless I was flying to hunt and wanted to avoid TSA questions.

I will try it again but I think their are some little details that help with the climb. @HuumanCreed mentioned how this guy holds the ropes is a important detail, see videos in post 2515.
When I tried it I used Amsteel for one tether, that was a mistake. Scott also talked about where he hunts and the trees he climbs.

Its the same amount of steps up and movement.without a piece of metal that could make noises ,.ido it silent and slow and it still takes less than 5 minutes to setup.plus there is nothing to unpack i just start climbing...when im done nothing to pack up...tethers go in thier hosters...infact im willing to race people from the ground with an arrow knocked.up the tree take a shot down the tree arrow knocked on the ground.inabout 5 minutes

Is their a good way to use 2 foot loops instead of the leg strap Scott uses?

Its all in knowing the ropes.boath tethers need to be adjustable.then your measurements of your ropes and advances can be fine tuned...placement on the tree in front of you knot way over your head.16 to 18 inch moves up or down.no strain...i dont use a legstrap.or double strap.

I agree. I have not used 1 sticking because before I got all the gear together, I found 2TC and never looked back. I did buy the 40 feet of 9mm rope and tried that a few times and just could not get over the fussiness of carrying 40 feet of rope and then needing another 40 foot or more of rope for a pull down line. I remember how bad my ropes would get tangled in the underbrush at the base of my tree using Ddrt and that Dyna glide was a twig and branch magnet. That's not even getting into all the issues I have trying to use a quick link. The profanity surrounding that quick link dropping every time I moved would've run every deer in earshot out of the county, lol.

2TC is very quiet and the moves keep your body close to the tree. No leaning back and down to retrieve a stick, like I have seen on videos about 1 sticking. If you use it and like it then great, I would not discourage you from keeping it up. For me, 2TC is very fast and as quiet or quieter than any other method I have tried.

Oh yes, my 2TC system uses 2 foot loops (a separate footloop on each tether, not a double) and is more like tree walking than sit stand. I have the option to sit when my top tether is high and I need to take a breather or I think I hear something. I also carry my bow on my back during g the climb and shot one of my does last year when I was 3/4ths the way up and no platform set. The two footloops made all the difference in the world for shot stability.

You need your tethers to be very stiff with a wire in them (see 2TC thread) that way they open up and you're not dragging the rope up the tree.

Thanks. Any good videos on the tube?
