Official Hat and facemask thread

Does face paint belong here? Anyone have an recommendations for good face paint that doesn’t suck go get off but works well?

No matter the weather, I pretty much always wear my First Lite Aerowool Neck Gaiter, which is light enough to be breathable but warm enough to take the edge off a cold wind. I wear the front under my nose and pull the back up over the top of my head (over whatever hat I'm wearing), and that stays put very well. Doesn't fog my glasses and doesn't interfere with my knuckle anchor-point right behind my right ear.

For hats, I'll wear a basic ball cap early in the season. As it cools a bit, I switch to my First Lite Brimmed Merino Beanie. When the mercury drops, I put on a brimmed, lined beanie made by Sitka (discontinued) (closest thing I could link is this Sitka Hudson GTX Hat).
This ^. I have a lightweight cotton gaiter for early season and a heavier fleece gaiter for the rest. A beanie over a ball cap in late season.

I can't get comfortable with anything other than a ball cap, bill backwards in early season.

But it all works.

This is my go to and the one I use 99% of the time no matter what I'm hunting, deer, turkey, coyotes and no matter what time of year. Although, mine is several years old before SL started putting their stupid gaudy logo on everything.

Never liked dealing with facepaint, and often times you need a visor to deal with sun. It also has thin mesh at the ears, so that it doesn't impair hearing. I usually wear something like a Sitka skull cap underneath so that hair and scalp oils don't reach the headcover and when colder I'll wear a warmer hat right over top of it.

Normally loosen the elastic cinch straps and let the nose cover ride at my chin, to not be breathing through it until I have to. It's really like wearing just a baseball hat most of the time rather than a headcover but it's crazy effective.

I'm not an Eberhardt ScentLok fanatic but I do also like it to not have my head where the most of my body heat is escaping covered not acting like a big scent wick while in a tree or on the ground. Best head cover there is presently IMO.

I'm sure I am not the only one. I spend more time and movement adjusting what ever is on my head than anything else. Have you guys found anything that stays in place?
I like to at least wear a knitted type hat when it's cooler. Keeps the ears open and some heat in. But everyone I have tried tends to slide up or over my eyes.
Face masks do the same thing one way or the other.
I'm not a cover it all ninja. Face mask when it's really cold. But usually flip it up because it won't stay put. Like the hat, but doesn't stay put.
I pick up one at the store and they all look the same. I like to stash it for the walk in and put it on after I'm up to keep from sweating.
What do you got.

I don't wear hats a lot other than hunting, and tight hats or anything that grips like a knitted one gets on my nerves and I fidget with it. Any consistent pressure on my head makes my hair roots hurt and gives me a mild head ache after a while.

Also, I don't wear a hood with a hat unless it is raining because every time you turn your head the hood wants to move the hat a bit. Other than rain wear, I prefer jackets not to have a hood.

I wear a lot of comfortable ball caps and will stow a Duluth Trading ear band that is made to go over ball caps and pull it out if my ears get cold. All my hats have bills in order to keep the Sun out of my eyes and to prevent glare from my glasses. When it gets colder, I have a Nomad fleece lined ear flap ball cap that is nice. When it is really cold, I go with a Stormy Kromer Rancher hat, but it is so crazy warm that it has to be pretty cold to wear it, especially when moving.

I can't wear a face mask because it fogs my glasses, interferes with my anchor point, and drives me nuts. I only use the fleece neck gaiters. If it's really cold, I'll use 2 of them. The first is stuffed down in my jacket opening like a scarf. The second is pulled up over my mouth and some of my face but under my nose (then I breath through my nose mostly to prevent glasses fogging and also prevent condensation on the gaiter around the mouth...my nose gets cold though but I manage) and the gaiter is also pulled up to my ears to overlap the ear flaps on my hat. It's loose enough that it moves out of the way when I draw and anchor. I prefer neck gaiters that are a little big and not super stretchy because I want it to fall out of the way when I draw and also I'm naturally fidgety and so I don't want stuff squeezing me because it always gets on my nerves (same reason I like big toe boxes in my boots).
