One shot, everyone knows the rules!

Guess it depends how much you like your neighbor….

I know you are joking but still it’s just not acceptable to shoot towards someones house. As if it’s not bad enough at ground level you have these clowns elevated in a saddle shooting towards homes! People may think I’m being a Karen but the truth is if you shoot towards your neighbors house you are putting lives and property at risk. I pray to god that no moron ever starts slinging arrows towards my kids, wife, and home

First shot wasn’t bad, second shot my mind stop working and I flung the arrow in the woods. I haven’t missed that target in about a year. Talk about a blow to the shooting spirit. View attachment 72409View attachment 72410View attachment 72411
My cousin/landlord shakes his head when he sees his garage wall full of arrow holes..... I'm sure to ad a new one every now and then, especially when I try really awkward shots at 40 yrds.....think 1 leg, 45 lean back etc...

If I shoot high enough to miss my garage, the arrow will sail into Lake Superior! But yes I am careful, especially in my timing....late evenings, just before dark!

I blame jrain for this miss, he was the one talking about missing… got in my head lol

Ok that’s enough time feeling sorry for myself. I got back up in a tree before work and took my time and tried to figure out what went wrong. First shot was a tad back and low bud I’m back on target,

What I think happened yesterday was I was pivoted off a platform with one foot and my torso was twisted, this twist stretched my back muscles. So when I was at full draw my muscles were already so tight, I really didn’t have any more room to tension for my release, this resulted in me pulling the string rather than expanding my back like I normally would and you know how that goes. I was able to replicate the affects on the ground. I think it’s something that I’ll have to try and be more cognizant of when I’m twisting around in the tree. Something I don’t do enough of is actually shooting from a saddle. It almost feels foreign, especially with a trad bow. It needs some more practice. I think being stable is even more import with a traditional bow so I may opt for a ROS vs Platform. TBD

first shot of the day a 25. Then tuned some broadheads to arrows and this one is of the first two shots at 25 with broadheads after tuning

I found one other arrow of equal make, spine and cut to the one I have currently flying well out of my bow. I was able to use a little heat and the insert came right out. I remembered I used insert glue that you melt on on this particular insert back in the day. I was also able to salvage a 100 gr insert from another arrow. So Ill have two matching arrows ready for this weekend. I did fletch these with right wing feathers long before I knew any better but I did buy some left wings, so I’ll refletch those this evening. I also have three other arrows of the same spine that are a little shorter that look like they will work as well. I put a 175 gr insert up front with a 150 gr point and it flew well bare shaft. I went with a heavier insert in them since they were shorter. I will fletch them up and will have 5 arrows total in the same basic length and weight class until my new arrows come in. Whew!

Same 25 or so as my last post. It repeated off just as high yesterday. Moved my peep to adjust. I feel like an idiot bringing up my equipment but I can't help but wonder if my dry fire last week has a role in this. I did have move my peep down, now back up.

Anyway, much better. 2 days...

First “Two” shots at 35. Look close for the first shot. I won’t be shooting this far anyway but forgot how much that arrow drops at that distance.

What arrow are you shooting?
Black eagle carnivore 300 spine. 100 grain Ethics stainless insert, 100 grain broadhead adapter and a 190 grain Grizzly single bevel broadhead (left bevel). Right at 400 grains up front. Four fletch A&A left helical applied with a straight fletch jig. Total arrow weight is right at 650 grains and 28+% FOC.

30 yards with a broadhead, all my shots were high and right tonight, so I tweaked the sight a bit and brought the groups back to where I was holding the pin, not sure what caused this shift
