One Stick gallery

It doesn't get tight enough to the tree for me to consistently use in that application. Though I can use it that why if I want to. I actually use the bottom step of it more, but that has the same challenges... needs downward pressure.
I'm thinking about adding some sq. head bolts ala LWCG double steps, which were just released.

I like using the top step for knees... see scout step-stick. This gets me out away from the tree.

It is not as compact as others, but I prefer a larger platform. The system works well other than I fold down the platform a little to hook the daisy chain. It locks to the tree good and when I get to hunting height I am already set. I lost the weight of the platform post so the system is not heavy. There is a bushing in the beast stick to assist weight distribution. I am not heavy so the beast stick does not flex. If one of the manufactures came out with a factory setup I would buy it.

What benefit do you get from the stick vs the platform when climbing?

That’s one sweet setup Kenbama!!

Thanks, The geometry accidentally worked out with stand offs and platform. When you hinge down the platform it engages with the tree. I also use a couple pieces of pipe insulation on the top step when hunting so I do not have to use knee pads.

I have a hand hold like a ladder which helps me climb
Sometimes I use the step to get my tether higher to get above a limb that ended up at just the wrong height.
Pipe insulation on the top step replaces knee pads
Helps to maneuver around tree
My 45 ft rope wraps good around it pic 1. Early season I do not need a backpack.

It would not suit everyone, but it works for me.

Just wondering. I ran a LW seat platform on a LW mini for a couple of years. It was my platform but I climbed with it as needed. I found the platform to somewhat hamper climbing nothing major but still time consuming. Then, I tinkered with a removal platform but never found a prefect match. After building a predator style platform & using it to climb, it just eliminated the need for a stick.

Finally got my scout, after being lost in the mail for almost the last month. pretty set on my stick now. If you haven't got one of these scouts yet, get one, the angle is so comfortable on my feet

How do you like the scout on the bottom of the stick? Think of doing the same thing to my full length hawk helium.
I always liked using the bottom step... gets me a bit further away from the tree and gives flat surface to rest knees. I still use knee pads.

How do you like the wire aider on the scout?
Its a little rough on my feet, though I've only tried it in summer shoes, boots should not be as bad. So far I'm a fan. Webbing can work also and is easier to adjust and change out.

I now have the shikar mini with the scout platform on top, the shikar 17” and the EWO 15” ultra lite. I plan on using the mini or the EWO as my one stick and place the mini on the side weak of my predator platform. I also have the shikar 17” that my son will use when (or if) he decides to hunt with me.

I think I may be selling my three leverage sticks that have been cut down to mini sticks with a Amstel rope mod and my one muddy pro with three step aider made by backwoods mobile gear.
