Oplux ropes

Anyone running the oplux ropes and long duck from wild edge? Yay or nay? Should I just get the reg setup from tethrd and run RM1’s

I run the WE sewn Oplux and CT RollNLocks for tether and LB.

Oplux is good to go but I personally stuck with a prusik avoid mechanical stuff if possible. The kong it only good to around 4kn from what I’ve seen so no go for me. Get some Oplux and a beal jammy and a Kong mini figure 8 from DanO for tender

If I was to order now, I would go with the oplux and duck. But since I already have the RP1 I will stick with the 11 mm rope for now. But newly investing? Buy the oplux in my opinion

Oplux with distel. either beal 5.5 aramid (@DanO has this now) or trc for the distel, with the minimum possible slack (retighten your termination knots after snugging and testing the hitch).

Or htp9mm w/sterling 7mm cord and the same config.

Other than a minimally shorter minimum tether length, ascenders on your tether mostly make money for tethrd/wild edge/ect.

I'm curious where you hear 4kn on the duck? Cause I've looked everywhere and found no specs at all on it. Which is why I went with ropeman2 and a ct rollnlock instead.

I'm running a kong duck on oplux for my linemans belt. Works just fine, love it. Very convenient to zip in and out as I climb a tree.

Don’t go with the tethrd ropes. They are great products and a great company but they are very bulky and heavy. You can fit two or three oplux ropes in the same pouch that will only hold one tethrd rope. An the oplux is a lot lighter. I wish I would have went with the oplux to begin with. The tethrd ropes are like a lock on compared to a saddle.

Is a beal jammy the same as a pruisk? Does it work the same?

Yes they can be tied in several friction hitches like a prusik. Im looking to sell the grey 50cm I have.
