So I ordered the phantom
Next on the list is a platform
Deciding between the lwcg ambush or the tethrd
I also want to get beast sticks too

any suggestions?

Predator platform would be what I would suggest.
Why? I doubt he wants a simple vote for one or the other. He probably would benefit from hearing why you like the predator, maybe even in comparison to the ambush.

I have the scout platform on a shikar and can say I'll definitely be using a ring of 3 or 4 steps when I carry sticks this year. I think that with a ring of steps and having more places to stick your feet makes it easier to find comfort simply because you have more options.

I have owned the predator since they came out and had quite a few hunts with it. I had not problems with it other than me WANTING a larger platform. I also own the ambush.

I believe the predator is a more flawless design and was tested better working out the bumps along the way(other than Gen 1 breaks). The ambush is a good bit larger and for that, I have stuck with it. I do not believe it is insufficient in any way, but I do believe the predator was better thought out.

On the ambush, I can easily stand and add a layer if needed. On the predator, I was not able to stand straight up. Sure it's a couple pounds more, but I will carry it everytime I head into the woods hunting.

I have the Predator and Ambush as well. The Predator was my go to stand last season. It's solid on the tree, and weights next to nothing. But, like others I just wanted a little more room. I picked up a first run Ambush and can't say I'm completely satisfied. The extra real estate is nice and it works great as a stick backpack but it make a lot of noise. The platform flexs on the tree so the teeth rub on the bark and make a popping noise. The popping increase the longer you are in the tree as the teeth continue to wear through the bark. I want to love this platform but just can't find a way to remedy the noise.

Give thought before you acquire too many sticks or an expensive platform how you plan to climb. If you're sure about using sticks, cool. If you think about one-stick climbing and it sounds good, that may change the sticks or platform you're interested in.

I think Helium sticks are a better bang for the buck if you want the option to convert from multiple full-length sticks to shortened sticks or one-stick, and I suspect (wish) there'll be a bolt-on platform for the top of helium sticks coming along that makes it a better built-in platform without carrying one separately.

If you are asking for suggestions between the two, I'd suggest the ambush for the extra real estate alone. Had the predator and it is nice, but its just too narrow for my liking. I found that I like something I can spread my feet out a little bit more. Weight difference is a non factor.

Also have you considered any others like the Ridge Runner? Less expensive than both ambush and predator and offers a wider platform design.
