I've been down that road, here's what I did to mine. I bought a piece of 1.25" square tubing and made my own seatpost. This way I can use a batwing.
Takes a bit of tinkering to figure out exactly where you want the notches, depends on your cable length. Here is my finished product.
I don't regret doing it, I enjoy tinkering, but if I would do it again I would buy a new seat from LW and use the old one for a saddle platform. The new one sits you out away from the tree a little more so it's more comfortable. Even if you don't need a platform you can probably sell the old seat for the price of a new one. Back when I did mine I new people hunted from saddles but figured it was something I'd probably never try. Fast forward to this summer and I bought a seat to make myself a platform. You could say I'm hooked.
Bottom line...is it worth it? Only you can answer that. Till you get a new post, seat, and cables and spend a bunch of time tinkering with it you could just buy an asault2 and sell me your stand to make 2 saddle platforms.
You won't save much weight by modifying this one anyway.
