Over 250 club challenge

e. My son's best friend was over. My wife dug up a picture of me from the summer before our wedding (1997). I was shirtless and about 165 pounds with 15% body fat and looked pretty good (as good as I ever have).
278.8 I’m up 1 pound, but the body fat percentage is down.

How are you adequately measuring your BMI(Fat percentage)?

I am a kinesiology major who had to do dozens of BMI calculations in college. The most accurate is definitely hydrostatic weighing, but, I don't find that any of them were very good measurements. Maybe there are new ones our since I graduated in 2011.

Holding at 236-237. Diet is going strong and the workouts have been consistent. Im hoping im trading body fat for muscle mass and that would explain the lack of weight loss. The scale confirms this, but not sure how accurate that is.

I sure feel a hell of a lot better

Thanks, I was being lazy.... I dug back in & found it came yesterday evening ( now I just needAAA’s )

I have to thank you fellas for the motivation and comradery here. The weight loss has made a huge difference in my health. Other than just feeling so much better, I dont cough as much dont snore anymore ( so my wife thanks you as well!) and have a ton of energy ( again, wife says thanks!). As mentioned before, im under surveillance for an. aortic valve and stem replacement, following the bypasses I had a couple of years ago. Saw the doctor today and overall Ive lost 43 lbs, the Aortic stem has not expanded (cant be reversed, but is not surgery critical just yet) and the valve has actually increased in efficiency. Next appointment has been pushed to 6 or 8 months instead of the recent 3 month intervals.
Winner winner, chicken and broccoli dinner!

Its easy, just have a heart attack like me. You'll be so terrorized about eating the weight will fall off. I was 250 pre heart attack. Now im 198lb in 4 months. Amazing what a heart attack can do for ya. I'm lucky I got to live to tell the tale. Now I'm walking 3 to 5 miles 4 times a wk and am in better shape than I have been in yrs. Thank you HEART ATTACK!!!!!

Glad you lived through it! Did you have any follow up surgeries ( bypass, stents, etc.)
Funny how what you thought was important changes after the heart tries to kill you.

I haven’t been on in a couple weeks. My workload has been crazy. Seven days a week 10 to 12 hours a day.

I am down to 267.7 from 294.5. Almost 30 pounds and I feel great. I’m glad Always89 decided to start this weight loss challenge. At the beginning of the year it was a weight loss challenge. Now I’m focusing on a lifestyle change. Something that is repeatable every day and not something that I literally have to think about every time I pick up a fork.

Everyone keep up the good work and stay safe.

Dan

Some of y’all are doing awesome. I was finishing my weight loss about the time you guys got started. The struggle for me has never been losing weight. It’s been maintaining my weight while enjoying a “normal” diet. I guess what I’ve figured out is normal for me isn’t sustainable unless I want to be over 300 lbs. Y’all keep it up.
