Predator Platform broke on me last night

DID YOU REALLY SAY MILLIONS? Bwahahahaha! Now I know this thread is a joke.

Any one with a computer please make a poll so it can be voted once per member

It was an exaggeration....Lol.

My post was obvious sarcasm.....meaning Ernie and Greg are the ones who took the leap and started a company to benefit us all. Now they are being criticized for something that has been corrected. I feel like some are treating them like they are unrelatable and are all about the money but they were like you and me just a few years ago and still are.

I was one of the first to receive my Gen 1. Hunted exclusively with it all 4 months old our season last year and it's a great platform. Use your gear correctly and trust your ropes.

pretty sure they started the company because they seen an opportunity to make money.

Why haven’t they commented on this thread? Why not just give the option to replace gen 1’s with gen 2’s? Too cost inefficient? Well sorry thats what happens when you start a business it cost money. Having these death traps float around seems pretty irresponsible. It makes me hesitate to buy from them ever again. I get that mistakes happen and if they would just own it ( and pay shipping for both ways) I wouldn’t hold it against them.

I don't think that they can reply to this thread. There is a clause on saddle hunter forbidding it. It was mentioned earlier in this thread or another thread about this same topic.

I believe forum rules discourages vendors using threads to discuss their products. (Am I right about that?)
That being said, Tethrd knows the contact info of everyone they sold them to. They should contact us about it.
I have two gen 1s. Ive had no problems with them and I like them a lot. But if one broke and ruined my health or a hunt, I'm sure my attitude would change.
I now use my gen 2 as my primary Predator. My gen 1s are now strictly for back up. If Tethrd offers a buy back, then I will take advantage of it.

Right.

This forum is not the place for tethrd or any other company to provide their customer service.
I can see why for most instances and respect that rule. But what about when it comes to the safety and well being of a fellow saddle hunter? This isn’t a minor thing like paint rubbing off of a tree stand or a rough finish on some aluminum, we’re talking about something that’s completely failing on people 25 feet in the air. The sickening part is seeing all the comments of “ I had no idea until this post”.

I mostly agree with you. But how does having Tethrd respond in this thread help the problem? They have been aware of the breaking platforms since it started happening. They determined what their resolution is and they have been sticking with that. There are plenty of guys who have posted their responses from Tethrd in here to share this information with other saddle hunters. That is what this site has been about, hunters helping other hunters. If Tethrd wants to directly respond to any issues they have a website where they can post information related to their products, or I'm sure they have the contact information for everyone who placed a predator order.

I don't see any advantages to allowing a statement to be made here when it could be done in a more appropriate location.

I'm sorry, I can't help it...

Roll tide.

And if they did post .... as you can see guys do not read the whole thread just the last page so they will have to continually respond everyday saying the same exact thing ... therefore the vendor rules where created. I nicely said a long time ago in this thread .. do not hold it against @Erniepower or @g2outdoors as they were asked not to respond to customer service on this site. If you want a response then go through the tethrd channels of communication, send them a FB messenger. But don’t expect a response to a thread by them or any company. I’m sure it’s hard for them to keep quiet at this point. Cheers boys! Let’s all go kill a deer and talk about how awesome it was!

Keep in mind, just because the Tethrd guys are not replying to this thread in accordance with the forum rules (I give them full credit for that), I'm sure they are aware of the content. Speaking solely as a Tethrd customer who really likes their products I can only hope they take the sentiments expressed herein to heart.

I have a Gen1 Predator which I hunted off of without breaking it all last year and, at 250lbs, I am not a small guy. That said, I did treat it pretty gently when setting it. I'm currently hunting off a Gen 2 (which I am completely happy with by the way) and have kept my Gen1 solely as a backup. I, as others have expressed, would definitely entertain an upgraded platform for my Gen1 if it was offered but until/if they decide to do that I will continue to use my equipment as I have been.

I have a gen 1 and well, I know that there's a possibility of it snapping when I step on it. But I take my precautions. I I ordered a Gen 2 last month after seeing a similar post on Facebook. Got a ridge runner that I haven't used yet. It's not as packable as the predator. If I don't like it, I'll sell it or have it as a back up. Let me add that I'm at 255 so not a light guy.

I have a gen 1 as well. Going to keep it. If it breaks I will email tethrd and get another. I am lighter in weight on 170 lbs. I didn’t read all 12 pages. Too much junk. I think there was only so many of these made. Like less than 500 before the change. Don’t know the exact number.
