Question on judo points (small game)

Have you found that setup to fly as accurately as your field points or are you seeing effects of drag?
I've split some aluminum arrows in the past but, I can't remember breaking any carbon arrows. I've misjudged some stumps that I thought were softer than they actually were and had to dig a few out of some pretty hard wood but, haven't broken any carbon arrows yet. I'm shooting a recurve though.
What should you look for as viable targets when "stump shooting"? Downed logs? Logs with moss buildup? Patches of tall grass?
Most of the time I just pick out a leaf, clump of grass, etc. but, if I see a stump that looks soft or rotten I will shoot at it. You can usually tell which stumps those are. The ones that look like you could kick them apart. Every once in a while I am wrong though.
Thank you. Discharging an arrow at anything other than an animal or manufactured target is something new to me. Never thought about it really due to seeing my arrows shatter if I hit anything hard. Thanks for this.
If you are around any AG field, shooting dirt clods after a field has been plowed is fun. All the targets you could ever want from zero to I dont want to walk that far.
Dry cow patties make a nice target, too. Make sure they are aged and DRY! Sometimes they may look dry on the outside but they hide a moist secret on the inside! You don't want to shoot at those...been there, done that. LOL

I use 25 grain lighter and it's good to 40 yards for me. But small game im not shooting longer than 30
If you like ACE, you can just grab a few washers to go behind your field tip.
All those guys stump shooting are using trad gear. I would be wary to put a compound arrow in anything. Gonna be a bear to get out...
I bury my arrows after passing through deer far enough i gotta dig em out for 30 min. Better be a really rotten stump and then you might be messing up your fletchings from pass throughs
Thats why you avoid shooting at solid stuff like living trees. A clump of sod, a leaf, tennis ball, etc are great targets.
My personal favorite are black walnuts.

Yeah this has been my experience as well. Although, I have never tried shooting at the ground from an elevated position with a head that is designed NOT to allow penetration.
You'll be fine shooting from the tree unless you hit a rock. So I guess a lot of this depends on your soil composition.

I don’t shoot stumps because it’s too easy to break something or mess up fletching. I just pick out a leaf if I want shoot.
As for small game heads the G 5’s are hard to beat imo.

One thing that sometimes happens to me if I hit something really solid is my nock pops off. No damage to anything other than the shock travels up the shaft and the nock ejects itself from the shaft.
