Recommendations for a Disney World back pack.

Something else to consider, especially if you are staying in the park is to take a break in the middle of the day and head back to the hotel for a nap, hit the pool, just suck down some AC, then head back latter in the day for round two. I get it, Disney is expensive and for most it's a one and done, but it amazes me to see people with kids try to do rope drop to park closing. It's hot, crowded and overstimulating and not fun for anyone. The LOML and I usually go every year (usually for Food and Wine in the fall or for our anniversary in May). Disney is bigger than you think and you can't do it all. Planning is key, treat it like an out of state hunt. All Ears and DFB Guide will help. The days of just going to Disney and "winging it" are gone, there is not "downtime" or off season, so expect it to be crowded.

A mid day life saver at Magic Kingdom is the Hall of Presidents. Got us out of the heat, not much crowd interest, indoor waiting line, lots of seating. At least that's how it played out for my trip.

Safely out of the Disney envelope now...had I only known about Kifaru back then, lol.

It's a Small World is my go to.

As others have mentioned IMO backpacks and bags can become more of hinderance than helpful in the theme park. You get tired of dragging that thing around and trying to deal with ride rules, placement, etc. Rather rent a locker if I just feel I have to have something at some point. No difference than saddle hunting….go light, stay mobile. You will enjoy it more. ENJOY!!!!

I asked this same question 2yrs ago...in fact, my facebook memories for the last few days has been bombarding me with awesome memories of our trip to Disney.

My daughters were 5 and 8 at the time. Mornings were like 40deg and the afternoon it topped out in the low 70's...we got lucky in that regard. However, what that meant, was daddy had to have enough room for water, snacks, first aid(which we used daily), emergency clothes, and all of the hoodies/jackets that my daughters and wife wanted to remove at 12noon.

For me, I used a Kifaru Door Gunner of which I removed the stays so it was easier to stow under seats for rides and such. What couldn't fit into the pack easily strapped to the outside. It worked very well...any larger and I would have struggled with fitting it on some rides, FYI.

I had criteria.
1. Couldn't have any rigid stays or frame sheets.
2. Had to be narrow for when moving through a crowd.
3. Had to hold 4 Hoodies/fleeces/jackets.

Obviously based on these photos, this was the Hollywood Studios day. And we had the early access and late departure for all of our days. We were averaging 30,000 steps aday. I loved it because I was able to eat absolute garbage the whole trip. I'm still trying to convince the wife for just the 2 of us to go back to hit up Epcot without the kids...drinking around the world would be one hell of a party.

Only been to Disney twice. Once in my early teens and it was...something else...even then. I got coerced into a 2nd trip at 17 or so with my now-wife as bait so the family could go on one last family vacation.

I despise the place with the same fervor I'd despise somebody who shat on my pillow. But if you're going, the best advice I have is a little clear backpack. Makes the search at the gate you paid good money for slightly less odious.

People act like it's a safari. It's not. Bring a bottle of water and a bottle of ibuprofen and earbuds and a wad of money. They really like your money and have places that will sell you anything you need in exchange for money. "Magic" at Disney world is slang for "money."

There are Disney Travel experts out there (my wife is one)…. They’re experts in helping plan your vacation and don’t charge you a thing… there is so much to planning a good trip and there’s so many “not in plain sight” options to consider depending on your wants (lunch on the savannah in Animal Kingdom, behind the scenes tours, etc)… find some help and then all you need to worry about is what pack you’ll use!

This thread has me absolutely cracking up. I was reading some of the high points aloud to my wife hoping she 1. decides Disney sounds terrible and our kids don't need to ever go or at least 2. I need to by a kifaru door gunner to make it happen

Easy. Save thousands. Don’t go. Buy door gunner. Everyone wins.

My newest favorite thread. Wife wants to go again now that our girls are adults, hell no! I could go on an amazing guided elk hunt in NM for the cost of five adults at Disney

Disney put in metal detectors after covid, so you don't empty your bags out at a baggage search before entering anymore. You walk through, and if it detects metal objects, you go to a different line and then empty it out. They recommend taking out and holding in front of you things like umbrellas, metal water bottles, chargers, etc. and walk through. So, metal stays in packs might set it off. Strollers go through their own line. Make sure you can take everything out of your stroller and fold it and carry it when you get on on the buses.

Last time I was there they still checked firearms at the gate....:fearscream:

Wild adventures GA is where we go...130 year pass and all concerts included and they have some good concerts.

Whatever local company has the contract to trap out there I bet makes a killing or maybe they employ their own animal trappers

They actually have guided fishing trips in the park. My wife would be thrilled about that.

When I said it was like a mission, and needs planning, I wasn't kidding. Probably a use for HuntStand the originators never thought of.
