Redundancy in tethering

The 8' rope I bought from tethrd with a 5" eye works great. But too short to tie a stopper knot in the end. I'm ordering a 9' with a 5" on the tree side and a 2" on tag end from Wesspur. That way I can attach around tree through prusik and ropeman 1, then to saddle on line man's loop.
Is that safe enough?

I’m using the Tethrd tether with an overhand stopper knot at the end. I back up the ropeman and bridge with a prusik connected to a lineman’s loop with a locking carabiner. A more fancy stopper knot might work better but with the Prusik safety it shouldn’t ever be used.

Been climbing poles in my profession for years and anytime something is new it can be worrisome. After some time you will learn to trust your gear, just dont get complacent as some do. Check for wear everytime you use and replace components as needed. Provided you are using good stuff it is EXTREMELY safe.

I wouldn’t tie my back up to a single linesman’s loop. If I did end up needing it I would not want to be dangling sideways. I tie the tag end of my tether to the belt of my Mantis. The webbing and buckle makes me confident that it will hold.

So when you have your tether to your bridge..why don't you take your linemans line and attach it to your loops...keep it semi-loose and that way if you do have a failure you only fall 2-3 feet?

Me? Because I don’t feel the need. I trust my tether connection completely. The tying of the tether end to my belt is in case of metaphorical lightning strike.
