Ridge runner mods?

I’m definitely also wanting to switch away from the buckle strap that the Ridge Runner came with.

I’ve read that whoopie slings work well for attaching platforms, but have some issues with backing off for platform removal.

As a Podium user, I’ve wondered about whether I want to switch the strap out. What makes you want to do it?

I wouldn't do it. You won't save much weight in drilling holes in it. If you look back in a lot of climbing stick threads that gets addressed. You'll save a few ounces but nothing noticeable
hey murph i watch and like a lot of your ideals . was wondering if you ever use bolts and if so do you know how early you can prep a tree drilling holes for the season coming up before the holes need to be re drilled because of the holes closing back up? thanks in advance!

I dont have my RR in front of me, but what are the bolts and washers in the pics for?

The big guy is the adjuster knob. The bolts, nuts and washers are to hold the platform to the cam over portion/tree bracket

I gave them a shot last season. Wasn't for me. My problem is I usually scout on the way in and I'd be in my way to my tree that I pre set and find something else that needed to be hunted right then. You could carry a Treehopper drill but that just wasn't for me. If your gonna use bolts for pre sets I wouldn't drill any earlier than June
