Looking at rules and regulations no centerfire “rifles” only bow crossbow, shotgun, muzzle dusters and pistols
The only rule on firearms for small game at lake George is no centerfireI may be wrong but this is what I found published if anyone knows different please share
I knew I could count on @Weldabeast to bring it down to my level. Is it still considered streaking if he has his saddle on?I heard that @JAYBO is planning on doing some streaking so there will be plenty to be scared of
I just hope it is after dark since I won't be their.I knew I could count on @Weldabeast to bring it down to my level. Is it still considered streaking if he has his saddle on?
The iguanas are another 2 hours south of us. They are beach side in South Florida like West Palm and belowInterestingly enough I was at the store this morning all the way in mid-michigan and the very friendly fella working told me how good iguana happens to be. I know it's come up on the forum before, lizard eating... if I show can I hunt iguanas? Because I feel like hogs are over my skill level
@JAYBO uses a drey mini so I don’t think it counts…..I knew I could count on @Weldabeast to bring it down to my level. Is it still considered streaking if he has his saddle on?
Plans can easily change to midnight panty raids at the rv campgroundI just hope it is after dark since I won't be their.
Ok guys as promised we have the finalized dates for the Florida Saddle Hunter meet up. It will be February 16th through the 18th or 19th if you so choose to stay that long. That’s Friday through President’s day. It will be at the Pine Island Camp ground in Lake George WMA Seville Fl. It’s “primitive” camping only aka tents or hammocks. There is an outhouse and a well but no running potable water. The entry fee will most like be around $35 to $40 like last year. It will include the campsites, a catered lunch on Saturday, and an event t-shirt. You can set up camp any time from Thursday night through Saturday morning. The main demos will be done Saturday morning/afternoon. Lunch on Saturday will be around 12:30 or 1pm followed by the afternoon hog hunt. There are picnick tables and a covered pavilion for eating.
Another hog hunt will be done Sunday morning with a special trophy from our very own @Weldabeast for the largest hog! We had a great time last year with
@ScottL , @JAYBO , @cutty ,@GeoFish , @MADhunts , @Bucketlist , @Capttickle , and a ton of other members as well as budget sportsman, swamp n stomp, Florida Camo and even an appearance from a huge south Florida bow shop “Skull Hill Archery” all in attendance. If you are new to the site and looking for a great opportunity to try out different saddle gear from all the companies, shoot the breeze with other veteran hunters, try different climbing techniques, or shoot a pig Florida hog in the mild Florida “winter” this is a great opportunity. And yes just like last year we are inviting any of you non Florida residents to come join us. You don’t need a hunting license to shoot pigs in Florida only a $30 WMA permit so you won’t find a cheaper out of state hunting opportunity. I could make it this year
The 2023 meet up was awesome and I wish I could make it but unfortunately work has taken me to Arizona this year. It looks like I'll be on the sidelines for 2024 but I'll be watching any/all videos from the event. There is a large field designated for parking vehicles on the outside fence of the camp ground. I got a special use permit from the state so we have the entire camp ground area. Lots of trees for hammocks, and flat spaces for the tent guys as well. If we need to a few guys can break down during the day time demos so that we can spread the saddle gear out to multiple trees. Last year we had 81 attendees and approximately 42 guests stayed and camped with us. Trust me we will make sure there is space for everyone!@Fl Canopy Stalker, do you have a rough count of attendees.... hoping there are enough trees at lake George for all the hammocks.
Also, once we drop off our camping stuff at camp, where do we park our vehicles?
Hey Matt. We understand and we also enjoyed having you at last year’s meet up. Hopefully the interest in us saddlehunter.com guys keeps up and this will continue to be an annual event. As I told the guys last year and in 22’, “as long as enough people are willing to show up to make it happen, I’ll continue to help host it, reach out for new gear food and fun. If we can’t keep attendance and interest high enough, I can’t invest the ridiculous amount of time and resources required to put it on. @Just_Hangin_N_GA I don’t know if we will top last year’s attendance because this year we chose a closing weekend of deer season for a portion of Florida and I also haven’t marketed this nearly as much as last year. However I can say for sure that we will have more than 45 attendees based on preregistration alone. That’s about how it was last year with another 35 or so people showing up last minute for Saturday or Saturday and Sunday only. The 2023 meet up was awesome and I wish I could make it but unfortunately work has taken me to Arizona this year. Remains to be seen. You can’t accurately forecast our weather more than 3 days in advance. My forecast currently says rain Saturday and a high or 71 and Sunday has a chance of rain as well with a high of 63 but all that can change the second the wind switches directions.Looks like it will only hit 70 and we will get some rain on Saturday.
I thought I was going to Florida for the sun and warm weather!
