Wow. I didn't know that. I am going to take a look at the WMA brochure and plan a hunt. Is there a lot of daily turnout?

Not sure how many people they allow in each archery block but I've never had to change blocks due to overcrowding

Blanding is awesome for us public land hunters because it allows does and bucks up till the end of hunting season but they have a rule saying you have to be outta there 30 minutes after official last light..... So if you wanna hunt far back it has to be a morning/afternoon hunt. Sucks having to be super hurried if you sit till dark

That what sucks, hard to kill one at last light and be out on time. I haven’t talked to anyone for exceptions based on a kill, etc

So what's the consensus..... If it's just a meet and greet the archery club probably makes the most sense. Or do you guys want to meet and greet in the AM and hunt the afternoon... we need to figure the wma that's kinda in the middle for everybody

Just my thoughts. I say during the season we hunt. We can plan a more formal meet up after January 19th. I have never hunted blanding, so I would be walking in blind. I would have to meet at check station 1 in the afternoon to scout hunt, then hit it hard in the morning.

Not need to go to the check station..... You drive to the block of woods you want to hunt then call the check station and answer their questions. They give you a number that you write down and leave visible in your vehicle.

Im on the other side of the lake in the no orange woods. I've never been in the gun hunt areas

Looks like the 4th and the 18-19 would prob be the only weekend dates that I may be able to get out. I have a lot of weekday days off too so I’ll post if I get out one of those days as well

I hunt F A and B. C is not too promising. The whole area is nothing like what is was 5 years ago. The deer numbers are down and hunter numbers are up. Doesn’t help that last year the opening week of the dog hunt quota they killed 97 bucks in 5 days. I used to hunt it religiously but got into a club so now I just go to hunt with a buddy there and look at some new trees.
