I was thinking about bringing my boat, but don't know the regs on out of state boat registration. I guess I should call the DNR.
A lot of this information is easy to find. You could call them or read it on the website.

If you do bring your boat, it will be an easy move from one side to the other and will save you about an hours drive. Of course, leaving it tied up on the bank is another issue.

Freakin awesome. Thanks @EricS
Just might bring the boat. 14' jon boat with 8hp. Could use it to shuttle people across the river. Do you think it would be worth the effort?
It would definitely be worth the effort for anyone you shuttle across. Is it worth it to you to pull it down here is up to you. If the river is high there will be many places where you can’t get through the trees safely to dry land. I would just play it by ear and see what the river levels are the week before you head down.

Ok. Thanks for the heads up. I'll follow-up the week before. It would definitely add an additional option. I am going to get it ready this weekend, so if the rivers right, I can bring it.

Just got of the phone with the area wildlife officer at Altamaha wma and he’s an old saddle hunter. Probably join us out there on Saturday

But does he know the "skinny" on where the best locations are to shoot pigs? The one I talked to didn't. I guess I should have asked him if he saddle hunts...

One of the wma I hunt here in North Florida has water fowl enrichment areas and they are usually a good place to check out.....just saying

Some of that waterfowl area is archery only. Even for small game.

I was thinking the same thing. I got a mud boat with a GatorTail GTR would probably work well to get into the back woods. Still debating between bringing the boat or my Teardrop camper.

@EricS gave me a heads up on the boat regs. Any boat with valid registration from any state can operate in GA under 60 days without having to register in GA. I am still on the fence about the boat. Cyber scouting today and there is a ton of places to hunt within a short drive. Not sure if crossing the river is that important. If I were you I would definitely stick with the teardrop camper. I can easily be talked into bring the boat if you want to plan a day on the other side of the river.
