SaddlePalooza 2020 - SIGN UP NOW

I think I can swing going early (arriving on Monday). Might bring my canoe also, which means I can do some good recon action prior to the main body arriving. Wonder if I can get the same camp site or will I have to move? Anybody have any experience down there?
I've never been, but it looks like there is tent camping in the center of a loop that has back in camper spots around it .There is some you tube videos on the campground and park.

It's pretty obvious there is way more interest then I think he was expecting. In the beginning he was only planning for about 50 people to attend, with a max of about 75. So I think he is between a rock and a hard place right now. I think he doesn't want to let anyone down or hurt feels and I completely understand. I think he should let as many people sign up that are interested in going and then do a raffle to drew names. Just my two cents.

Your wrong. He knew how much interest there is that’s why he capped it. We pack out ft Stewart every year. There had to be 65+ campers the last 2 years and like 100 on sat for saddle demo. I may be wrong but there is a lot of saddlers there that week! It’s a pretty awesome weekend!

See you in a tree, Ricky

I was just wondering why this thread kinda died and after reading all the replies , it seem like others were also wondering what was going on.

I am ok with being wrong.

Lol. It’s all good. He’s probably hoping someone will pick up the ball and run with it!!! Lol. This is a big deal for him to put on. He plans dinner every night and fire wood. Whatever he thinks some one might need he tries to have it. I guarantee it’s a lot of work!

Just a FYI if you plan on using a boat make sure it has a outboard or a trolling motor if you plan on using water access the river is tidal and the current gets pretty strong!

Make sure you have a outboard or a trolling motor with 2 batteries! Its tidal waters and the current gets pretty strong I hunt all those WMA's

Thanks. I don't have a motor for the canoe... Guess it really will depend on weather and tides. I was thinking of using it to cross the river to head up the creek on the opposite bank to scout for pig sign along the creek.

You ain't kidding.....I crossed over that river yesterday on 95 and that thing was ripping with white caps

Do we have an address for the camp ground?

It also depends on the river level when saddlepalooza gets here. It hasn’t been ideal most years.

1605 Altamaha Park Rd, Brunswick, GA 31525 is the address for the park he mentioned in the original post. Altahama Regional Park.

I spent the first 18 years of my life down there, and it is a great location. The Altamaha WMA is very well managed and well kept. MOre hogs than they know what to do with. A john boat is definitely recommended to get to some of the more remote areas like Rhett's and Butler.

There is great food like Mud Cat Charlie's, B & Js, and the Old School Diner. Jekyll Island, St. Simons Island, and Sea Island are within 30 minutes.

If you are flying, the Brunswick airport is 10 minutes from the WMA, but its about equidistant from both the Savannah and Jacksonville airport.

Should be a fun event!

If anyone from North Ga or anyone diving through wants to ride together I'd be down, I live in Jasper (hometown for the inventor of trophyline Mr. James Green).

I'm in Kennesaw. I won't know if I'll be able to go until mid-January, but you're welcome to ride if I go.

I'm going to look at the campground tomorrow. As long as everything is copacetic, I'll post the registration link by the end of the week.

Let's get this thing rolling!

Did this ever happen, or do we need to enlist one of these new young Saddle Hunters at Fort Stewart?
