Appears to be. I tuned one up for a guy a few months back. They're really nice machines.

I’ve heard they’re nice. I always wanted a 206 when I first started looking. What are your thoughts on top loading vs bottom/side loading bobbins?

Bobbin size being equal, I can't say I have a preference. Speaking generally, I really like side loading bobbins because I can easily set string tension outside of the machine, have bobbin cases set for a certain thread size, and I find setting timing a bit easier. However, I love having extra dedicated slide covers on a top load machine for mounting folders and binders.

I don’t have any extra slide covers or attachments but the first part you stated is exactly how I feel with having one of each style.

Just picked up another 15-91 for $25. Will need to rewire it as it still had the original cords, but it runs when I plugged it in. Plan on keeping for parts in case my primary ever needs anything.

Oh No. You are on your way to an advanced stage of sewing machineism. It always starts with 2. :mask:

Facebook, Craigslist and thrift stores. I dare not go to the thrift store any more. I'm picking up a free Kenmore this afternoon. Giver has been contacted.

Both of my 15-91s came from facebook market place. Niether had the model number in the listing - just Singer.

I search every few days and just save them. Whenever the price drops facebook lets you know.

Not a 15-91 and not quite $25, but you may be able to talk them down....

edit: it's a 1930 model 66 by the serial number
