Sewing Machine Deals for the DIY Guys

Consew 18
$250
Fenton, MO

Revisited this ad and noticed it has a big speed reducer beneath the table. Even with the clutch motor, that should make it a piece of cake to sew stitch by stitch with plenty of torque to make it through the thickest materials.

Consew 206RB-1
$400 $300
Wooster, OH

One of the best compound feed machines out there. Has reverse, big bobbins, large stitch range, and plenty of room under the presser feet.

Price drop. Really a great deal. If you're worried about the "jam" mentioned in the ad, this machine is easy to work on. MTRC Crane put out about 4hr of video on YouTube on how to reset every setting on the machine:

Singer 111W, probably 111W153 or 155
$350
Nashville, TN

Compound feed, no reverse.

Likewise. I'd be scooping up that one, and while in the neighborhood, the 111W153 for $150 in North Canton, OH.

I cleaned up the thread a bit and made a post for all the sold machines. Hopefully that makes the thread and ads easier to navigate and reference for historical pricing. I also added a brief guide of commonly seen heavy duty machines to the first post.

Singer (probably) 112W139
$450
Dearborn Heights, MI

I wouldn't pay this much, maybe you can offer less since it's been listed a while. Double needle compound feed machine. Use one or two needles as needed, your choice!

$250 for a Consew 206 is sooo cheap.

@bj139 is the man to answer on the domestics.

I did see this machine in your area, which would be good. You can find a clutch motor for cheap or free and fit it to the table, or just treadle it old-school! It has a reverse.

Singer 31K32 (dropfeed, straight stitch industrial machine w/reverse)
$60CAD
Brantford, ON

Edit note: The intact industrial treadle base alone could be sold for $50-75 USD

I can't read the serial number but it looks like it might be a 99 class if it has a drop in bobbin. I don't have a 99 or 66 class machine, one is large and the other small but same machine so I can't give you any direct opinion.

Deals are out there. I just got a steal of a deal on this. Juki dnu-1541 for $400.
I’ll soon be selling my tacsew t111-155.

Enjoy, it's a hell of a machine. I lucked into one a couple months ago.

I know it isn't saddle related but I'm picking up a Juki MO 50e serger this evening. It will work well for making hunting clothing though. Starting on a hoodie today. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it tonight.

Sounds related to me! I have an older Union Special 39500 I have yet to clean up, tune, and set up. I'll get there eventually and start some similar projects. Good luck with your hoodie!
