Simple Venison Roast

In my opinion the full stick is the way to go but I like butter like a fat kid.

Also, try the leftovers on a steak sub roll the next day with some provolone.
That's what I did. LOVE it. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with how it turn out even for leftovers. But my father-in-law has no more teeth and is convinced that the dentist is trying to kill him. So I was wondering the best way to make the leftover more wet. Like how Mission BBQ ask if you want dry or wet brisket.

That was amazing. One of the better meat dish I had. Thank you all! Just a quick question. It was a little dry after the initial use, how do I keep it more moist and 'wet'? Or is this is simply because venison is more lien? I heard adding apple cider vinegar can keep it moist but I'm not sure about the taste.

Also, 1/2 of the package of Au Jus was enough. But I might do Buffalo Ranch next time for a little kick!
Haven't done ACV in this dish but ACV is your friend. Doubt it changes the flavor in a negative way. I use it in several dishes and am never disappointed I did

My wife cans banana peppers so I’ll throw a a pint jar liquid and all in there too seems to add to the overall moisture content. Otherwise, get a small jar of peppericinni’s and throw the whole thing on top liquid and all.

Not sure but I would say you can sans the stick of butter and the aus ju dry mix. I would maybe rub the whole chicken with olive oil and add a slight amount of chicken broth instead. Whole chickens are usually pretty fatty by nature. compared to most venison. I just made a roast the other day. My daughters couldn’t get enough.

You could try it. Or maybe turkey leg quarters instead. I just braised up some turkey Conchita pibil and it was excellent.

You should have had some liquid in the bottom off of the crockpot when it was done. I usually just scoop several spoon fools out and dump/drizzle over the meat after I put it in whatever container I am keeping it in. The more you add the more moist it will be.

Finally tried this. I did mine in an instant pot, which requires a little liquid. I did a cup of low-sodium beef broth and a half cup of pepperoncini juice. Subbed a pack of brown gravy mix I had on hand for an au jus packet. Unsalted butter.

It was what I'd call "fine." Not the best roast I've ever done, but solid. I'll keep the recipe around for days when I don't want to chop veggies and run to the store for red wine. I kept it simple and served over mashed potatoes, and thickened the liquid in the pot with a little cornstarch to make quick and dirty gravy.
