Single Most Favorite Piece Of Clothing

So if you had to pick one article of clothing that you wouldn't want to hunt without, what would it be? It can be something you also scout, trap, lounge, or wear day to day in also, but it has to be something you wear hunting. What is that one piece you would recommend ten times over that you absolutely love and can't say enough good things about?

For me, its the Badlands Cool-Touch Hoodie. I freakin' love that thing. Super comfortable and works really well early season, with smartwool 150 or 250 mid-season, or just a layer late season. I would encourage everyone to add one to their collection.

King of the mountain wool shirt jacket purchased second hand from @Vtbow . This is only second in favorite clothing item overall to a custom tailored jacket I had made while in Italy. And I have worn the KOM basically every single day the temperature is below 65 degrees since I bought it. I've received more compliments on the KOM jacket from the gen pop than I can recall. It's kind of weird actually.

A very, very tight second is the Cabelas broadhead pants/jacket suit set I purchased on clearance at recommendation of hunting buddy for 100.00. If I had known how awesome it is, I would have purchased 10 sets and vacuum sealed them for future use. Perfect Camo, Perfect interior loft, Perfectly silent. Only nitpick is the same I have with any hunting pant - they should completely zip off so they can be layered without removing muddy boots, or dragging them through the pant. Besides that, 10.5/10. I'd pay more for this suit than any comparable sitka, first lite, etc - for stand hunting specifically.

Honorable Mention: Simms 3 finger fishing gloves, merino wool. Like anything good, not available anymore. Friend is charter captain on pro staff. Bought some on a whim, and they're fantastic for hunting. Went on clearance and we each bought 5 sets. That was a few years ago, and I have worn through all but one pair because I use them so much hunting and fishing. It makes no sense to me that someone doesn't offer a high merino wool content liner glove with at least the thumb and index finger cut off for dexterity. Another item I'd buy in bulk if available again.

Yup. Not even close. Totally different glove. I want thin “base layer” thickness and softness and dexterity. The Sitka were too thick. Overdone.

Less is more in this case. Basically a liner glove minus 2-3 fingertips.

I wear functional gloves climbing and setting gear or while walking when it’s colder. This is strictly for the sitting. Though I have destroyed all mine through using them while working during hunting and fishing trips because I don’t notice they’re there and I’m undisciplined. Try to leave them in my pack until in a tree so I’m not tempted

I'm a gear nerd and have a bunch of favorites but top 3 are Stratus pants, Incinerator muff, and North Mountain Gear Leafy suit... something about wearing leafy top and bottoms that makes me feel invisible and can wear what ever I want underneath.

Woolrich wool bib overalls (unfortunately discontinued). Thats ok though I have three pair. One that's close to 50 years old and fit like pants and two newer, more sizeable pairs. They should last me the rest of my hunting days.

Kuiu Axis vest. Light, tough, warm, and cuts the wind well. Although it hangs from the bottom of my pack a lot it's ready to throw on easily and quickly for a little extra core warmth.

warrior alpaca toasty toes socks are awesome....warmer than merino or anything else i've ever tried

For elk, Pnuma Waypoint vest. It’s so cozy and does great in the wind.
Whitetail, LaCrosse Alpha Burley 800 boots. The only boot I have ever used and stayed warm. I also love my Fanatic suit for the warmth but need a much smaller size now.
