Single pin sight

I have always shot a multi pin sights but sometimes struggle with differentiating between pins when they are close together. I am thinking about switching to a single pin sight. Any advice or suggestions on sights?

My progression has gone from 5 to 3 to Single to EZV.

Main reason for every change was cluttered pins.

Biggest downside to single pin is adjusting on the fly. If you shoot fairly flat arrows you can just leave it set it at 25 or so and not need to adjust out to 35yds.

The one I used and still have is a TruGlo Range Rover pro.

How do you like the EZV

i went from multiple pins to single pin this year and love it. I will leave it set at 24 and be good from 5 to 32 yds with a 560 grain arrow.
A couple of inches high at 5 and low at 32.

I switched to the Axcel AccuHunter this year and love it. Only issue what so ever is when I forget to change the yardage slider. Retraining my brain to always think about yardage before drawing the bow is taking some time....Think I've done it three times now. First time I shot from the saddle this year it took three arrows before I checked the setting for the sight to realize it was set to 40 and I was only shooting 20. Third arrow skipped off the back of the 3D deer and stuck in a tree. The first two just hit really high, guess I should trust my shooting quicker than three horrible shots...

That happened to me with the exact same setting. 40 yds vs 20. The arrow is still in the tree my bag hangs from.

Yeah my first two just barely stuck in the top of target, above the spine even. Thought maybe I had bad form from the saddle since it was the first saddle shoot of the year (was shooting weak side as well). Third one skipped right off the back and stuck in tree when I noticed the 40 yard setting.

I've been shooting an HHA Optimizer Lite for ~5 years now and won't go back to multi pin sight. I love the clean sight picture, and can set it around 25 yards and not have to move it for any shot under 30 even with my heavier arrow build. I don't use a peep, which makes those low light shots even cleaner.

I switched from multi pins to a single too just to eliminate that messy sight picture. Set it at 30 and you're good to got on most any ethical shot on a deer. IF by chance you're compelled to shoot at something ( yote, opposum, fox, whatever} beyond 35 or 40, the animal should be far out enough for you to range and change pin setting no problem... highly recomend changing to single:)

I went from a 4 pin to a single pin this year for the same reasons mentioned above. I looked at the Range Rover but wanted to spend less since I wasn't sure if I would like it. I chose the Truglo single pin pendulum so I don't have to mess with it in the tree. Haven't confirmed the pendulum part yet but I will soon before my first hunt.

Have tried everything from 7-pin to EZV and currently shoot an Axcel Armortech that i swapped to a single .029 pin sighted at 27 yards. And I compensate from there. I missed a huge deer a couple years back due to a slider and I can't go back. EZV wasn't for me and I this is where I ended up.

I use to run a trophy ridge hitman 5 pin sight, I swapped to a HHA 1 pin and I'll never go back. I leave the dial at 25 and know where to aim from 0-30 and just rotate the dial for longer shots. I love the clearer sight picture.

I went from 3 pin sights to ezv and now to a black gold whitetail single pin...much prefer the single pin for shooting targets will see how I like it for hunting

Iv'e killed many a deer with that exact sight. Used it for about 10 years now and love it.

Like others have said. I went to single pin 5-6 years ago and I'm not going back. Currently HHA Tetra optimizer .019
