I wouldn’t recommend any stick bracket for this. Use the loc on brackets

The XOP six point bracket works very well - perhaps that's the loc on bracket you are referring to? What other loc on brackets are readily available or what do others use? I agree, shouldn't use the climbing stick brackets from either XOP or Lone Wolf - known as V brackets.

In last pic you can see the stress fractures across the bolt hole

I’ve softened my stance on this since my last post.

I had a buddy come home with a LW Assasin and it had the same standoff used for the sticks (same as shown split above) at the top of the stand. Apparently the older models were made this way. Another buddy has a newer Assasin and it has the offset bracket at the top. I had two offset brackets on hand that I hadn’t put in my platform yet so I offered buddy #1 one of them to replace the stick bracket. It didn’t fit.

Then he sends me a link to one of Garrett’s videos (unrelated to the issue at hand) and I noticed that Garrett’s stand also had the stick bracket at the top of the stand....

Anyway, I think the splitting issue is camming related and I don’t cam my platform into place. I’ve used the platform twice since then with the stick standoffs and hanging it just like I do my sticks so I’m going to leave it alone for now.

I did order more offset brackets to make more platforms so soon I will have both and make a decision then.

Yeah, the camming action definitely is what caused the stick bracket to deform. If the platform is hung like a stick you should be fine, keep an eye on them just to be sure.

I used the XOP six point bracket on my shop rider platform. I’ve cammed it to the point of using body weight on these slick bark trees in the swamp and have no signs of stress damage.

Ok, my scooter platform showed up today. I'm thinking of mounting it on LW stick, towards top, so when folded up it's the same height as top of stick. I'll not cam over. Possibly bolt a clear on each side underneath towards outside edges that woo hit tree when my weight is on it. Hopefully I can just use the least strap. Platform mounted just above the button.
Please give me your thoughts.
Thank you I'm 220#

The XOP brackets seem bombproof. Haven't checked to see if they're back in stock but I am planning on trying them out myself.

Spent 9 hours on mine yesterday and 9 more today. Mostly leaning with an occasional sit. I really like it and it packs up pretty well. Added a quick release pin so I can take it apart to pack better. XOP brackets are still out of stock - but I'm working on an alternative so stay tuned.

Completed mine! Can’t wait to get some practice on it!View attachment 8055
Looking great! I chose to not use a carabiner to connect mine due to potential metal on metal noise. As I move around on my platform I don't have to worry about kicking it. Used a small dyneema runner girth hitched to the platform but you could also use an amsteel continuous loop.

I dont use this platform, but saw talk about the brackets. I use xop beam and cam my post, then my platform. I use the LW offset bracket, it bites hard and no issues. Just thought Id share that given the talk and xop out of stock. I would guess its lighter than xop as well.
