Something I've been playing with over the summer during practice, These little guys work pretty good as small steps or even little platforms, ring around the tree idea. If you have access to a plasma cutter or even a Dremel you could try them out. I used 16ga steel so mine aren't light I might even go bit heavier just for safety factor (I'm 220 if you wanted a ref). Plan is to use for presets and not drill trees. If you make out of alum I'd bump up the Gage you'll have to test yourself I haven't made any. nice thing is they nest so super easy to carry. I've started using car door weather striping on the top edge for grip and safety when climbing, not shown in pics.

Looks like theyll work just fine!!!
what if you made some slots for the buttons to slide into each step below itself... Would "lock" them down to each other and allow for better stacking.

Here's the 1:1 scale pdf you can print out and use as template. The Zip file in first post has a DXF if you have the equipment to make them.

I'll look into the slide lock, sounds like a good improvement. Thx

Really like the alum versions in that link gonna have to try that and the bend over on top. Thx again

Thanks for all the input, basing a new update on some of it, will repost after I verify they work.

Wish I could make them for others. One of my buddy's can sneak them in his machine. But glad to provide the design for others to try out. If someone was interested in making a bunch The files I post can be used at any local metal shop with the proper equipment.

That's simple enough, what gage? I want to try them now. How bout weather striping on top to soften edge, maybe even a printed cap for the corner? But like it, I started using automotive weather striping you can tap it on and holds really nice. Also might want some anti chaffing on the strap all you need is one good burr to ruin your day.
