I have the free version on my phone.
When I drop a pin, I made it a rub.
When I go back and click on the pin, it does not tell me what the pin is? What am I doing wrong?

Also I do not see a pond pin??

Mine has a pin for water source under the structures tab. I'm on the paid version though so I dont know if there is a difference.

Man this really seems like it was designed by people who actually scout and hunt. Very tempting

Does spartan forge AI use your journal data in its algorithm to improve deer data?

Thanks it was there.
How do you create a hunt area?
I may not be able to do it in the free version.

AI that generates data about high percentage hunting areas…

I want nothing to do with supporting that.

i was considering switching to spartan forge till the revelation of their Intentions for hunting AI within the app.

What are you referring to. I haven't heard about this.

That’s not what it does

Pre launch hype, that's what he said the intent was.

I did some research and apparently that has not come into fruition. The current AI is just another deercast/weather/astrology concept.

Make no mistake though any location-assistance AI would 100% be built on the backs of user data. Maybe they realized the error in that and reeled it in. Or maybe its still in development.

100% sketched me out, but to be fair I have the same concerns about my OnX and Huntstand data eventually going that direction as well.

I don’t know what any of the hunt apps are trying to develop. But I can make some guesses and I don’t like where it’s heading.

They were studying collar deer movement and creating an algorithm off of that. Absolutely nothing to do with user data. He was developing it before the app was a thing. I'm as sceptical as the next guy about privacy but that is completely different than what he was using "AI" to do

This conversation makes me feel like a cynical old man (which I’m neither).

Using collard Deer data is precisely what I’m worried about. Hunting doesn’t need any more easy buttons. When you put all these technologies together you remove the need for skill. If people want an easier go at hunting then they can head to a region with an excessive deer population - at least that way they are learning and helping to keep a healthy herd.

Once the software exists to predict deer
Movement based on collared deer data, the apps will absolutely be incentivized to mine user data to refine the accuracy of software.

I hope the next generation of hunters will be more skillful and effective than we are, but not because Siri told them where to go and how to get there.
