Specific but simple pocket knife

For those who are curious... it's been a few hours and the knife is still in my pocket.

1. Knife was missing the tweezers when I opened the box. Not a biggie. Didn't even realize it was going to come with tweezers and a toothpick until after I hit buy now. I called Old Timer and Ethan said he would have one shipped to my house tomorrow. No ding on functionality there, just a fact.

2. The size is longer than I would like but it is what it is. Again, after @Iron_llama's comment I'll deal with the length because of the utility of the saw. It is small enough to fit in the 5th pocket of my jeans and only stick out a 1/2" so that's a plus.

3. The saw locks into place with a spring steel keeper but the knife blade doesn't lock.

4. I immediately took it outside and cut a 1/2" limb and an 1" limb. Worked smoothly both times so I'm satisfied with the saw for my use case.

5. The finishing on this thing sucks. The pins stuck out a 1/16" from each side and the grips themselves were sharp in hand due to being completely squared. Went ahead and fixed the feel of the handle with my 1" belt sander while I was recontouring the blade. It feels ok now.

I'm determined to keep this in my pocket the next few hunts and see if it checks all the boxes. Next test is seeing how easily it cleans up after a deer dismantling.

I know it adds weight, but how about a small set of pruners? Maybe even ratcheting pruners? It’s probably quieter than a saw.

Thank you friend but I'm really trying to fill a specific use case. Pruners are not ideal for me.

Sounds pretty practical. I've pretty much settled on fixed blades for hunting, and a ratchet pruner or Fiskars or Hooeyman saw for heavier cutting. I've gone to leaving my knives in my kill kit and pruner and saw in my pack. But - this looks really, really practical, and I might need one.

Youre a wild man! Getting your monies worth on that sander lol. Does that blade style function well for you cleaning deer? Or what makes you like it?
Bro. I LOVE THIS SANDER. Many many jobs accomplished with it.

What makes me like it...

Length - For most all knives, for most all tasks (deer related and not), I just really have no use for anything over say a 2" to 2 1/2" blade. For deer in particular, my gutting process has me reaching far up inside the chest cavity to cut the swallow and air tube and extra metal past ~2" makes it easy for me to knick my other hand. This OT worked out to be right at 2".

Shape - A short sheep's foot allows me to put my index finger right on the spine of the blade at the tip enabling control of tip pressure with my finger instead of my wrist.

This is how I typically hold a knife while gutting/skinning deers as well as many other tasks.

I like a short knife for gutting a deer as well, for all the same reasons. Seems like j e no matter how careful I was I would put a slice in my left hand when I was shoulder deep in the body cavity.

I'm never really done with a project. That said, the original scales were plastic and totally felt/looked like it. Today I decided to re-scale it with some wood dregs @Razorbak66 sent me. Had to file some help-pullie-outta-da-pocket finger grips into the bolster because I didn't want to put them in the wood. It all turned out pretty well. Lost the toothpick functionality because I don't have a tool to make that channel cut but is ok. Now I what to finish it with?
