Excellent work from one predator rope splicer to another. May you never have to change your bridge length again!

I like the splice around the loop! Haven't tried to do that yet but you have me intrigued with the idea now.I think I am done for now.
How necessary is it to lock stick it?
Just did 3 splices today for my linesman belt and tether, tried like hell in every way I could to get it to walk out and honestly dont see how it could be done.

Haha so true, I had the tethrd spliced rope and that was not lock stitched so was just kind of thinking to myself is it just an extra or is it actually necessaryCan’t ever be to safe.

I don't think it's likely to come undone under load. The lock stitch is more intended to keep the splice from backing out during normal handling while it's not under tension.
Good info, I haven't tried yet and honestly am not sure if I am going to... it is super tight right past the Y so I'd imagine getting anything through there without splitting strands would be a nightmare.I tried lock stitching mine the best I could but what a pain! I broke the needle on the speedy stitcher half way through the last one.

I will prolly mark where the bury goes into the Y, use it alot at ground level, move the rope around a ton unloaded ect and if it moves then stitch it.

Can anyone attest to the strength of the splice? I mean, it sounds like lots of folks are doing this, but does the splice hold or will it come undone under load at the worst possible time? In other words, will you be as safe as with knots?I used this gentlemen's method the last time I spliced predator with pretty good success. The wire fid is the trick to get the core down thru the cover.

Thanks. Would it be safe to say that if you don't see the eye getting larger that nothing is moving and there's nothing to worry about? It will. It’s safer than knots. Knots reduce the strength of the rope by 50%. Splicing retains most of the ropes strength. You can lock stitch if you are worried for peace of mind. But it’s tough I broke a couple needles and just said screw it.
For sure! It took an hour to milk it tight... are you really concerned that it's going to come loose. Trust your work, but verify at ground level before going to hunting heights.Thanks. Thanks. I'm starting to feel better about this splicing thing. Now I just need to work up the courage to give it a try! Really appreciate your input. For sure!
