Splicing rope?

So I was talking to one of my arsonist buddies the other day after sending him a pic of one of my Yale bandit splices. He had told me it looked good just need some whipping and I'd good to go. So I asked him what he ment because so far nothing I had seen mentioned it. He told me they usually put a couple stitches in the splices just to make sure they won't slip.

So I thought I would mention it just in case.

Arsonist buddies? Strange company you keep. Lol
I'm gonna tackle the rope splicing thing starting this week. Hopefully I'll get time after work today to try my first one

 Hey arsonists know all the good rope tricks! HAHA

You can also whip a splice just like you'd whip the serving on a bow string.

This video demonstrates it at the 7:40 mark.

Is Samson HTP a rope that we would be able to splice, making an eye loop?

I purchased a 13 foot piece today (the end of a spool) and plan to make a lineman's belt.

I think with HTP, sewn eyes are used. Don’t think spliced eyes are an option.
