Splurged on an elite omnia today

If you put a coochie craddle(WB) on that bow I am not talking to you no mo. In all seriousness, if you are planning hunts to Alaska or maybe other western hunts in the future, I would encourage you to put a good drop away and a good dial sight on there. Prolly wont ever need the dial for local deer hunting but in a western hunt scenario, esp spot and stalk where you will have the time to range and dial, I think you will be glad to have that capability.

You're right, it's a "what I'll need most of the time for deer" vs a "what would be best for a hunt way in the future" thing to an extent. (though I don't "need" the bow I bought and I'd need to practice with a dial sight before heading west for sure)... Half the reason I've stuck with the WB and ez-v is that there's so much option and opinion in bow accessories that I havent wanted to wade through. I suppose I have some reading ahead of me

I rarely shoot at deer beyond 25yds, but have a QAD drop away & spothog 2 pin slider. Complete overkill, but I shot TAC a few weeks ago & it was nice to be able to shoot past 100yds without changing a thing in my setup. I know that’s a complete difference in direction than what you currently run. But can’t see how youlld be dissatisfied with that

Now there's the type of easy button I'm looking for. I'm hesitant to post a poll or something because I'll get too many varied opinions, but have been debating a "best rest/sight combo for under X$ and go."...

Check out the classifieds. There is usually a QAD or similar for sale some where. And a slider if you want to try one. Find something marked down. It can tell you what you like and don't like. Most guys deep down enjoy the tinkering more and just claim it's a better up grade. Just gave them an excuse to play with their bow and shoot it more. Which is good.

Neither of those are the cheapest in category or most expensive but have been reliable & I wouldn’t change either one. Love the 2 pins on the slider for whitetail. I have 20 & 34, just split the difference in between….. don’t have to move the pins at the moment of truth. That’s most people’s knock on a slider anyway.

Exactly!

Dude!
You should put this sucker on your new bow!

^^^ That's a great sight at a really good price!
I'd have bought it right away but I already have one...

Multi pins are a headache. Two might be ok, but one is going to be straight forward. All you need in the deer woods, and all you’ll want for elk.

I also agree with what others have said regarding the rest. Get you a hha drop away and be done with it. I didn’t miss my whisker biscuit going to the drop away.

When do we get pictures? this is taking forever!

We need pictures or it didn't happen....;)

I like three pins with two on the high and low sides being the same color and a red in the middle. Gives one some reliable range on an animal which may be moving.

Congratulations on your new bow! That's super awesome. Hopefully you'll post some photos of this beast soon.

I prefer multiple pin sights myself. With my arrow speed (476 grains out of a 29" Switchback XT), a single pin means more Kentucky windage is needed for deer hunting. Or moving a sight during a hunt.

Admittedly, I drop all but the top two pins to the bottom of the sight during deer season. Two pins covers the ranges I'll shoot at a buck. But I use the other pins during the off season for practicing longer shots once I'm solid at deer distances.

I paid around $30 for my bow sight. I'm intrigued by new features and pricier models. I often hear "invest in the best sight you can afford". But I've shot with mine out to 70, and it does the job.

I can see where dialing is more precise, but 10yd increments beyond 40 is doable with a multi pin sight without too much swag in between pins. And one probably isn't snap shooting at those longer distances so there should be enough time to remember what pin is what distance after ranging an animal for a longer shot. But one is good for quick shooting a ways too.

Anyway, they may not be the best option, but I don't find them a headache.

Well it appears that landslide was sold already so the hunt for a sight may continue. I've ordered the qad hdx and a peep and such, so likely will be setting it up with those and the ez-v once that all comes in (I'll take a photo when that's all done, for now, it looks exactly like this... But it has a few tags on it still.)

Now to make some arrow decisions... Do I stick with the 125g QAD exodus broadheads I've been shooting or go all in on the splurge and lean into some 2 blade higher FOC idea. Decisions, decisions.

What are the specs on that bow?

Definitely on the limb-driven side of the fence, and would have recommended a Vaportrail Gen7 lol, but we sell a ton of the QAD rests (probably 20:1). Everyone has their preferences, but check out the the Spot Hogg Fast Eddie 2-pin for a do-everything sight.

I was on the fence between those 2, but the qad being ever so slightly cheaper was the deciding factor for me. I've been shooting a WB for years so either way will be different /"improvement" for me. Though as I said before, I reserve the right to go back to the biscuit lol.

Current sight forerunner if I buy new/don't find one I like in the used market is the black gold pro hunter HD 3 pin, though analysis paralysis and indecision may have me sticking with the V as long as I have an insert that matches my actual arrow speed... After I buy arrows.

Don't these have smooth and performance mods? I could be mistaken, I drool over a lotta bows  If so which one are you shooting? I think performance is stock/standard

Also fwiw, both myself and the dude I told you about with the starbursting issue are with BG. I'm happy with the quality of mine ( dual trac) , but do almost wish I had stuck with 3 fixed pins
