Haha I have treehopper steps that I “had” no reason to change out. But the thought of not having them on the strap and installing in place might be worth the upgrade.

And then I would also have to send to Matt at OOAL and get coated.

Silence is where the S3 shines. Real impressed with how I can pack them flat now (or drop them in separate pockets) and install each one quietly vs fumbling with 4 or 5 of them all at once. No more clanging together. I was even able to do away with wrapping them in a bunch of vet tape.

I get a squeaking sound from my boots without the camo tape. Wish mine were slotted now.

Very handy! But I would say that cuts the weight capacity in half. If you're tethered in and most of your weight is in the saddle, it shouldn't be an issue, but I wouldn't trust them to support me on their own.

I have been using a couple slotted golden buck steps like that on my ridge runner all last season. It is a great option. I am sure the slotted squirrel steps work great too.
