I was looking at the Aero Hunter Gear Bag and the Tethrd SYS Haulers and was wondering if you use them a lot. How important is it to have a SYS Hauler / Gear Bag attached to your saddle? It seems rather big and balky hanging there and bouncing all over the place as you walk into your stand.

One more question, how do you send a private message from this site? I sent redsquirel and g2outdoors a "Conversation" with no reply. I don't think they are getting my messages.

A lot of us at using MOLLE dump pouches to store our tether, lineman’s belt, and other gear. I would say at least one pouch is necessary unless you want to fumble with rope while you’re getting setup.

I run two pouches off my kestrel - one for lineman’s and the other for tree tether.

Can’t speak to either the aerohunter or tethrd pouches but I assume they are well made and durable. The ones I use are airsoft pouches purchased off eBay. They get the job done but aren’t anything special.

I don’t use any. All my gear goes in a backpack.

Me to because I didn’t like a pouch weighing my saddle down plus I wear my saddle loose. But I’m gonna try it on the mantis because it looks like it may wear tighter. It would be Nice to have my lineman and tether on my side instead of in my backpack. We shall see.

I use fleece pouches or no pouches, depends on the hunt scenario/setup.

It truly is a personal preference up to the individual. You won't get a consensus.

Yeah, it's going to depend on how you like to set everything up. I run 1 on each hip. I keep my ropes (Tether & LB) on my left hip and I keep my pull up rope, gear hanger, and a few accessories on my right hip. There are a lot of options out there too. The cheapest is the airsoft dump pouches on ebay. I used those for years. The lightest is from Tethrd. It all depends on how you like to setup your gear and what's important to you.

You're doing it right, the "conversation" is a PM. I'm sure they both get swamped with them. Took g2 a few days to get to me when I sent him one.

I use Aero Hunter gear bag . Once I take my tether and steps and ratchet strap out of the bag I can't tell it's their. I also carry my kestrel into the woods in my backpack and put it on at the tree.

There's a thread in the announcements forum in which redsquirrel says new members must have made atleast three posts in order to send a PM. Maybe this is the problem?

I made a dump pouch out of a USGI green wool army blanket to hang off my kestrel. I put some Velcro on it. When I’m not using it I can roll it up and attach it to itself. Super light and quiet. It was rather easy to do with a sewing machine.

Sorry I've been sick for the past week and out of it. I responded to your message last night.
