Tab, glove or other

Deerskin/goatskin damascus-style glove. I can also shoot without it (for a "short" period), or with my leather hunting gloves. My fingers used to have "trad" callouses, but no more lol.

Thanks for all the responses.
One thing I didn't mention is that for whatever reason, I feel much more comfortable letting down with a glove. Might just be a mental thing, but it feels like I have more control.
I shoot 3 under as well.

I started with a Yost tab with cordovan face and a suede layer for comfort, which I really like. However, this year I'm going be putting a Saunders Fab Tab through it's paces. It was recommended to me by a friend who has used them for years because it's very durable and the string comes off it very cleanly. I like the durability, modularity, and the fact that it is unaffected by moisture. I also really like the fact that the finger loop is very low profile, unlike the shock cord with bulky cord lock on the Yost, which hangs up on my pocket when I'm trying to keep my hands warm late season. I've only done a little shooting so far with it but it has felt great so far, and may well end up being my go-to long term.

I have shot several gloves and just never found one that felt good to me, although I can see the appeal.

I think that I maybe totally screwed up after reading through some of these reply's.
I am shooting 3 under with a glove and attempting to do it instinctively.
Sounds like I am back akwards on all accounts.
It is dang frustrating when you don't know what you don't know. I need a "Tad for Dummies" book.

I know BTaylor already said it but just wanted to add another voice to say: you're just fine doing what you're doing.

My local archery shop has aluminum plate tabs by Decut for $14.

I bought one to try.
Worth the money in my opinion. It has a little hump in the palm side that can be modified if needed.

I make my own and the tapped plate with screws is worth it to me.
You can replace hide to your liking after you get some use from the stock leather.

Mind sharing a picture?

My furnace failed and had my attention the last couple days. Luckily we are in an unusually warm stretch and I had the luxury of fixing it myself.
Here are picture of my plates which I made long before I heard of yost tabs.
Also is one of my two under tabs.

I never understood the function of the plate on a tab. Can someone explain?

Here are a couple of mine. All cut from old shoe leather. Add a dot of velcro to the back of the tab and another dot to the belly of the riser so you never misplace your tab.

I would ask to buy one from you to try but that would go against the challenge you issued. Lol
Seriously, I like the simplicity of it and the ability to keep track of it... nice work.
