I am looking to get a new pack and have been eyeing a couple of options but everytime I start to read there is just no way they will work effectively with my stretch Armstrong self. Granted my girlfriend had the tape measure but my torso length is like 20-21”. Just wondering what you guys are running that fits well. Thank you all

Is this a day pack or a pack for multi day excursions and meat hauling? Answers will vary based on the overall intent of what you need the pack to do for you.

Kind of looking for a do all, between hauling in saddle gear and over night gear if I needed and hopefully hauling meat out. To put it into perspective, I’m currently looking at the trophy line sumpter. They make this one look pretty solid for what I’m wanting

Ive never had one but I doubt the TL is going to be what you are looking for. You’re going to want a frame pack for those duties and with your torso length it will have to be something with an adjustable torso. Any quality frame pack would work. I know @Zero One Actual and many others love the new Exo K4. I have a couple Mystery Ranches as they fit my budget better. There is also Kifaru, Stone glacier and many others.

You’re in good company -

I am 6-4 and kind of a torso man. I have a ~33” inseam. For a daypack the best fitting pack was the kifaru shapecharge. I have my fingers crossed they update it and get rid of the X-ray straps and put duplex straps on it. Cuz the shoulder straps suck ass. For cheaper packs the Kuiu ventures fit well.

If you need more than a day pack. Frame packs are endlessly customizable.

I'm 6'3, and I've been very happy with my Kuiu Venture 2300 (size L). That's probably a bit light on capabilities for what you're talking about, but they make bigger bags for the Pro frame if you decide to go that route. I want to say @gcr0003 had one listed on here a minute ago and could speak to it more (might still have it--I'm too lazy to check).

Gonna look into it. Thanks

I’m 6’6” & have a MR pop up ran all the way out it it works great. If I was gonna do a long backpack hunt I’d get an EXO. Btw I’m too cheap or haven’t found a way to justify it to myself to buy a k4 & an extra small bag to work for day hunts here

I’ve got the Sumpter and the adjustability and light frame works well for me, 6’3”. I can’t speak to packing meat out since I’m a bag it and drag guy but I feel like it would work as advertised for deer or antelope size. I can’t speak to larger game intelligently.

Lot of good options in this thread as always. Pack threads are a key to the city of the support thread. Haha

I am 6'7" an just picked up the MR Pop up 28 L/XL on this forum. Great pack was adjustable to fit my long torso!

With Kifaru about to release their new frame, there will likely be a number of used duplex light frames for sale. It is a great frame, imo. Just keep in mind frame packs are similar to boots, the key is going to be finding the one that fits your body the best. Kifaru, EXO, Kuiu, Stone Galcier, MR all make good packs. Just have to find the one that fits you the best and has a bag that works for what you need. For me that is a kifaru duplex lite with a stryker xl bag. Can whitetail hunt with it or throw a camp/dry bag on it and do a 4-5 night back pack hunt.
