TEAM 1 THREAD

Hope all are doing well during this prime time. Been hunting for 12 days solid. But last 3 days produced big! Main frame 8 pt with 2 kickers for 10 extra points for team 1. Plus shot another Doe and another 8 pt. Season is pretty much done for me. Can only shoot does from here out and I already have 6 deer on the season. Donated 2 to feed the hungry and gave 2 to friends and still have a lot of meat in the freezer! God was good to me this year!! Gonna try to put some friends on deer and maybe film some for them. Keep putting up the points!!!!98911357-CF48-4A37-B4BA-D8BE5A45DF91.jpegC3E783B1-8C09-4700-9FB1-2B52DB6CD626.jpegAD34A133-D6C1-499B-8F23-B9C57709EAFA.jpeg

Thanks! Actually the 14 pt I took last year and the ones I took this year where opposite sides of the state. The real kicker is- right after I shot the smaller 8pt, I had an enormous 12 pt come within 15 yrds that was every bit a 170+ Deer! Damn the luck!! Lol!! Been very blessed the last couple seasons.

@bloodsoakedberber I just left on Friday morning. Had great days on Monday and Tuesday just was unable to get any shots off. I did watch several 4 pts chase a doe around, heard my first true buck growl which was amazing but the big boy never stepped out. Here is a photo of one of the deer we were after. Two of my buddies were able to harvest buck so it was was a good week. They actually shot them day one.Screenshot_20221114-092231_Messages.jpg

Last local sit for me tomorrow morning. Headed to Coopers Rock near Morgantown next week for rifle season with my father in law. Every tree in the place is tall and straight so I may end up using my climber a bit but I'm not 100% sure yet.
Good luck and have fun!

The first half of my rutcation was a bust, I only saw one shooter and I messed up that opportunity. Tomorrow I head up North to Hayward for my annual vacation/meat hunt/rifle season/get together.

The weather forecast for the first two days of the rifle season calls for temps around zero in the morning, but warming all the way up to 19 by the afternoon.

I need to remember to bring in the brass monkey.

The truck said it was 11 degrees when we left the house this morning. Eventually it warmed up enough to pull my phone out. Despite the great view the two deer I saw (doe and 4 pt) were behind me. I moved 380 yards north to a transition line of thick thick saplings bordering some oaks that were dropping like crazy end of September and saw another doe and a spike walk the edge. Heading back to that same spot but about 50 yards west in the morning. Was out from daylight to dark with my father in law and his nephew (41). Stayed comfortable in my recon.

Got out for probably my last sit of the year. Saw 17 deer and 7 bucks by 10:30 am. My dad had shot one shortly after daylight and was waiting on me so I told him I’d stop being picky at 10:00am. Unluckily for this guy, he was the next buck to give me a shot. I watched him and another small buck push each other around for a few minutes while a spike watched them.

Then had a 2 mile pack out with an 82# pack.

Was pretty cool getting to pack two deer out with the old man
