TEAM 1 THREAD

I made a last minute change of plans this morning when I woke up and saw this cell cam photo.A9E9AE27-E54A-4AF5-AC30-0E7DC2A29477.jpeg
Am planning on hunting the next two mornings in the general area of this camera to see if we can cross paths. Have a good preset spot I was planning on hunting with some small 8’s passing through routinely but that’s not nearly as exciting as this guy.
 
Third morning sit in a row. Saw a small 7 pointer come out about 60 yards to my right and proceed to walk the opposite way from me. Found half a dozen fresh rubs and a couple week old rubs about 100 yards to my south. Going out again on Tuesday.
 
Went again yesterday afternoon. The weather was perfect(misty, overcast, cool) Deer we’re moving saw several including a decent 8 pt but not what I wanted with Rut just starting. Hope everyone is having a good season because it’s about to get prime!!

Last Thursday and Friday we saw good afternoon buck movement. Buddy shot a six 40 yards from me which was awesome to watch. I thought I heard him rubbing a tree so I rattled and grunted. Less than 5 min later he walks by me right to him. Fun night

Going to try and use these bucks to help me get a doe down. Figuring they’ll be chasing some around their bedding areas and I’ll sneak in shortly after day light and sit till around noon Wednesday and Thursday once this rain moves out and temps drop slightly
 
Just grunted in a small 7 point I saw walking 75 yards from me in the opposite direction. Wasn’t either of the ones in the pictures, just a small 8 with his g2 broken off. He circled my tree and eventually got 10 yards from me downwind and spooked. Never had a clear shot the way he came in. Couple more steps though…

At 10:52 I saw a doe about 60 yards from me through very thick stuff and as soon as I lost sight of her I saw a buck of some sort. At 12:50 I think the same buck tried slipping past me and I put a 20 yard shot on him. Happened so fast I don’t really know what the deer looked like. Probably less than 10 seconds from sight to shot and another 2 seconds would have had him out of range and gone. Will update soon.
 
Thanks! Never did find my arrow. Buried in thick brush maybe I’ll get the reflective wrap to shine in the dark later. That second picture showed the exit hole so it passed through. Not much of a blood trail with the Grizz tricks but the damage was massive inside.
