Team 1 Thread

no injuries, thanks. another deer crossed before this one. When I saw the first deer I slowed way down and even thought to myself that there would be another one. But I couldn't stop in time.

Truck has some damage but the good news it is covered with comprehensive and I only have to pay for 20% of a rental. The real question is going to be how long do I have to wait for parts. Hopefully I'll know more in a week.

If I was good at it I'd never kill any bucks cause I have no restraint when it comes to a fat mature doe. They make it under 25 yards with the trad bow or under 30 with the wheel bow and they're getting an arrow.

I'm a little more selective when I've got a gun as I'd much rather kill with a bow, so much quieter and less intrusive to the property.
I agree, a fat doe with my bow is a much bigger trophy than a buck with a rifle. I was explaining to a gun hunter friend how I watched a doe scratching her chin w/her hind hoof. She was close enough to see her wet whiskers. He said "I've never seen anything like that before" Duh ! Not @ 200 yds through a rifle scope. I guess to each his own but I live to bowhunt! Fred Bear said,"It's not how far you can shoot, but how close you can get !

initial feedback from insurance is that it is fully covered under comprehensive. I just have to pay 20% of a rental. But I haven't gotten feedback from the shop yet to confirm.

On the hunt this weekend (with thermal imaging of course) for this absolute unit of a pig. When initially looking at the photos from my cell cam I thought I had a calf get into the wheat pasture.

Wow, I wish we had them here. I'd rather hunt pigs than whitetails, and that's a good one.

Hey Phil, if it makes you feel any better I'm about to head to a different spot for a few hours and I'm gonna take my daughter's rifle with me on that trip...

Not your year. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Prayers sent for a speedy recovery!
I'm ready for 2023 to be over also, but not until I contribute to the team with at least a doe kill.
