Team 10 Thread

Got a nice 5x5 today here in Ohio. Been a rough year trying to hunt and work on my house to sell. He has a split brow so good for 16 points. Good luck Team

YES!! LETS GO! Amazing deer man! You also just more than doubled our team's point total!!

I hit a nice 8 last night. Unfortunately no recovery. We waited about 2 hours before starting the track and backed out after the first 200yds when he wasnt immediately down. I went back in this morning and tracked it right to the edge of a piece of private where I had to stop. I have some history with this property owner asking permission to track several years before (he politely asked me to get out of his driveway while casually holding a pistol). Shame too because I managed to capture the whole thing on video. Only thing missing is the important part.
I'm having a rough year, one clean miss, one no recovery and two nice shooters inside 25 yds with no shot opportunities. Trying not to let it get me down though. I have to take tonight off to close on the sale of a house (rescheduled from this morning since I otherwise occupied) and the I'll be back at tomorrow morning. Good luck guys!
It’ll turn around and you’ll get em! Don’t let a couple negatives ruin your season.

Thread's been quiet here lately. Wife's been outta town for a few days which means 2 things: I am not eating very healthy and I've been hunting non stop. Muzzleloader season usually coincides with the best deer hunting and at least 1 good deer down for me every year. Not the case this year. So far I have had 2 misses with my muzzleloader and no deer to show for it. It's perfectly sited in, it's just the operator that sucks. Anyway, last 2 weeks have been a grind with nothing to show. This is definitely where the mental part becomes a factor. How is everyone else's mindset? Stay positive y'all.

Keep at em!

I’m good even if everyone around me is killing but me. Heading to camp mid rut for 7 days starting Friday. Every second in woods is special (kill or no kill).

I have no access till next quota nov 19-21....but after the 22nd it'll be wide open hunt as much as the family allows when the military base starts first come first serve archery hunts. I've hunted at that spot since I first started hunting roughly 7 years ago. I've drawn back on 2 deer, released an arrow at a buck but missed, drawn back on 1 turkey, shot a hog in the throat but never recovered.... Never killed anything yet but each year I learn more about it so my odds are better this year than last....don't expect much fellas....hahaha sorry

The base has 6 blocks of woods u can choose from if u get there early to beat everyone else. In all the years past I have jumped around between all of them. I think I will try to just focus on 1 single piece this season until I have a really really good reason to go over to another block of woods. I have a couple expendable vacation days and if there is a really good cold snap during the week I may take a day off to beat the weekend crowd if it looks real good weather wise...

Been hunting hard for the last two weeks with nothing to show for it. Rifle season opener this morning. Have seen 2 sets of does with fawns so far.
I have not been seeing really any deer this season. The farm I hunt is usually covered in doe and then the bucks roll through. I have not seen 1 doe on stand this year. Only small bucks. I am hoping this changes soon! lol Frustrating season for me.

I went out to St Vincent’s island last week of October and I hunted a local WMA with a friend this past weekend. Shot at one buck all season and missed. My buddy let a couple doe(s) walk. Overall this has been a bad season for me especially since I missed archery season and our rut due to neck surgery. Yesterday we did find some good fresh tracks and rubs but it’s gun season and the deer have gone nocturnal. On the camera all movement has been around 8pm and stops around 5am. I have definitely found some new spots along the way that may have potential next season but that doesn’t help for this contest

Spent the last 3 weeks doing what I told myself I wasn't going to do this season... Hunting a specific deer. An absolute horse of an 8 point whose longest tines are his brow tines. I put well over 100 miles on the boots and spent nearly as many hours in a tree, and my only sighting of him so far was in the high beams at 5 am. Hunting this deer is starting to feel like a full time job and I need a vacation from it. Today I'm hunting a different property where I've had some action packed mid November hunts. Just gonna go in there and have fun with it. If a deer gets me excited and gives me a good shot I'm gonna take it.
