That deer looks like a horse! It looks 250lbs plus+++ Congrats!!
Last year I saw antlers and a large bodied deer so I focused on the deer. Took the 18yd shot from the ground and killed the buck, but was surprised it was only a 4pt. It weighed 143lb total weight, which is on the heavy side for buck in this area of Florida. It was only 1.5yo, which I'm bummed now as he had the genetics to be a really heavy body as a mature deer. But he was a legal public land buck so I'm not dwelling on it!He was an absolute tank! Soon as I saw him I didn’t care about what was on his head lol. Then I walked up and saw the rolls on his neck and couldn’t believe it. I honestly thought the scale was broke at the processor when it was only 168 haha. Think that gets me to 210-220 for live weight but he had to be more

Good shootin@hokiehunter373, yours looks like a monster compared to mine by looking at the pics. Maybe my scale is off a little but either way, I'd guess yours to be around 200#. Here's a couple other pics

Thanks, he went about 35 yards.Good shootin
No doubt about it. When the processor went to say his weight I was half expecting the number to start with a 2 but I've only shot one other deer close to this one in size and I didn't get that one weighed so I really don't know. I only weigh 155 but he easily outweighed me gutted and I was thinking he was probably 250 live weight. All a guess though. His neck was 18 inches right behind the ears.I don't know if he's just humped up a bit laying there, but that guy looks like a tank!

I used to have a lab that was an awesome tracker. First year without him so I figured I'd better make sure my shots count lol. I switched to kudu points this year. Didn't go super crazy on the heavy arrow thing though. Pretty impressed with them, a lot internal damage and caught the back shoulder blade and still a complete pass through.I've gotten to be a pretty decent blood trailer, but it's always nice when you don't have to be haha... What broadhead you use?

Any luck tonight?I woke up at 4:30 this morning. Looked at the weather to see which way the wind was gonna be blowing. Then saw rain in the forecast for the first 3 hours.. I let the dog out and went back to bed. Would have went if it was a few weeks later in the year closer to rut. But not today. Weather looks to be clearing up mostly for this evening. Gonna probably head out into some public this evening.
Thought I was gonna be clear. Started raining with 1.5hr to go. Pretty hard for the last 45 mins. Should have came down and slow walked back to the truck. Saw a fresh doe track in the mucky part I crossed.Any luck tonight?

This public land stuff is kicking my butt. I have yet to see a deer on stand in public.
