Team 10

I've been trying to find some 50-60lb limbs for it, but it might be easier to just buy another bow! I won't get rid of this bow though, as it will likely serve me well as I continue to want to shoot BUT my body has other ideas!
Congrats @Kevin2 ! Keeping it rolling. I wanted a Switchback XT so bad back when I got my Chill R. Just couldn't justify the price a used one was still going for when I could get a brand new bow for not a terrible amount more

I clocked it at a mighty 211fps yesterday before I went hunting! LOL...but then I realized how BLAZING fast it would have been compared to my mid 80s bows that were flying 180fps TOPS and that was amazingly fast for the time AND it still killed lots of deer inside 20 yards. So, at 15 yards it was going plenty fast!
That was the flagship when I started working in a pro shop.

Speaking of mathews bows, I have a 2008 DXT that I will never get rid of. I freaking loved that bow. I bet I killed 40 deer with it. I only switched because I was looking to get a setup with a little more KE so I can shoot mechanicals more comfortably.

Sold my Chill, regret it, but it was a 70lb version and I'd need lighter limbs SO I'm trying not to be depressed about i! I had an opportunity to buy a 40-50lb Chill this spring on ebay BUT I snoozed and got outbid!

I looked at them back when I got my Chill R as well

Mathews will still make limbs if they don't have any on shelf ready to go. Going to be black though. Usually they are around 250$ a set new but it's been a couple years since I've worked in a shop.

I just got in from another hunt. Nothing seen this morning in spite of setting up deep back along a creek with some red oak acorns dropping. Tonight, I found another spot that had better sign and set up over it. I had 2 does come in at last light. I could see them silhouetted black against the dark grey leaves of the woods at about 12 yards. They were under some understory, and I hoped they would ease out under the oak, where I could see to get a shot. It looked to be a yearling doe and a big nanny. No such luck, but as far as I can tell, I got out clean. No running off or blowing. They must have been headed somewhere. So that was good.

He was courteous enough to stretch his legs before dark, but went the other direction. We got a 40+ degree drop happening tonight so I already told work I'll be in later tomorrow morning. Hopefully he's around again. I have a good idea of where he came out of timber, so I'm going to set up little closer and see what happens

This hurricane rain is finally done and tomorrow’s weather looks excellent! I’m so wound up to get out I can hardly focus on work today… probably won’t be able to sleep tonight either lol
I think my hunting would drastically improve if we could just get some rain. Good luck man!

Power to you man. I shouldn’t even complain after what happened to Florida but we had it dump cold rain for about a week straight from Ian. I’m ready for some sunshine and crunchy leaves

I'm always torn on crunchy leaves. Makes it terrible to get in to your spot and impossible to sneak around without wind but so much easier to hear a deer coming. Although many of those "deer" end up being squirrels lol

Ime here the deer absolutely do not move much in daylight when it's dry as it is here. I don't think they like not being able to hear over themselves walking around.

I think they like to walk sandy creek beds when it is dry, both for the quieter conditions and for the water. I've been noticing a lot of tracks down in the creeks lately.

I think in general they like to walk dry creek beds. Gives them an easy path that is often surrounded by cover and browse.
