I have 2 bucks but 1 will count as doe

So my count should be 12 (a 7pt buck)+ 5 (another 7 pt buck that counts as doe) = 17 Total Contest Points

My hunt yesterday AM was a bust. Ended up with a S wind which is bad for 95% of the property. I started into one setup and just didn't like how it laid out so I backed out and scrambled to the section of the property I thought would be best with the wind. There was still a chance it wouldn't be any good. I think the wind was fine but I got blanked on my sit. Got down and did some scouting and found some great info/sign/sightings. Meanwhile, my cameras in every location were blowing up with deer. Good news is that I didn't ruin those areas or get busted because of being there with a bad wind. I'll be out Saturday and Sunday for our rifle opener weather permitting. Sunday the goal is to finally shoot a deer with my son. Need the rain to get out of here before then.
 
My daughter is up for Thanksgiving, finally getting to do some shooting with her! I put her diamond edge on the chronograph, I think she’s got it at 40 pounds, 199 ft./s! I was pretty impressed, quite a bit faster than my circa 1985 Martin cougar speed flight bow that went a whopping 185 ft./s!

Happy thanksgiving everyone. The giant I thought died from EHD showed his face yesterday for the first time in 4 months. Of course right after I burn all my vacation and good will with the wife. Might need to change my plans for Saturday and get after him one more time

My wife and daughter just got me an earlier Christmas gift, Black Friday purchase! GoPro 11 with the works! Daughters' idea, giving it early to me so I can use it for the rest of hunting season. I normally don't accept gifts, preferring a gift of time the last decade, but they twisted my arm! THEY all are backed up on their "time" gifts, so this seemed good for a change!
 
I was out this morning before daylight until about 9 or so at the local permission piece. Misty morning and only saw some squirrels.

I need to reboot the season soon. I'm losing momentum not seeing any deer.
 
I’m up swinging on opening day of PA rifle. Downright chilly this morning, temps right around freezing and windy. Hoping to get one today, buck or doe. This is probably my last hunt of this deer season.

Soon as my daughter left in the morning, I was back after em! Got my eyes on a couple of deer while tracking them, but no shots fired. There’s no fresh snow, so I got barn yarded a few times. I just could not decipher what track was the fresh track once the buck got into a bunch of other tracks and exited!

But it was exciting! I did find a couple of new Treestand locations that I’ve been curious about, so that was sweet too.1455997A-43CB-4F07-98C4-B0F32145667A.png
 
Wanted to do some more tracking in the snow BUT it was about gone! Came across some fresh buck sign, sat up on it, and then 3 Does showed up for 15 minutes feeding in front of me. Was awesome, but the buck DROUGHT continues this year. Can't buy a sighting!
 
I got out Saturday for our rifle opener. 2 deer. A spike and basket 8. I wasn't going to shoot that 8 until I thought about making my kids happy. By the time I changed my mind to shoot him he was behind some thick stuff and out of my life. Went out last night to try and get a deer with my son. Weather was pretty crappy but it quit raining right before prime time. Somehow we got skunked. Can't buy that kid a deer. Maybe December will help. I probably won't get out again until the 2nd weekend of December unless my wife is feeling generous on our weekend trip away lol
 
I went out yesterday and checked on 3 of the five primary scrape locations I have found. Only one had a scrape opened up so far. I have only seen one opens woods scrape as well. Things just aren't kicking off here yet. I decided not to trek back to the other two based on the sign I was seeing so far and the fact that they are way back. It was nearly 70 degrees here yesterday and I did 5.5 miles and 8 floors according to my phone. I am guessing if it will cool off some the pre rut should get under way soon. I always put our rut about December 15th to January 10th and usually the pre rut is starting.
