Team 11 Thread

Checking in from Kansas! We are already open, but pretty warm weather so far this season. With a wife and two young kids at home I have to be pretty selective on the days that I hunt. Waiting for a decent temp drop before I get out there.

Also, I like the current team logo. But if we got a decent picture of a spike with some good long daggers for headgear I would 100% adopt that as the team logo. Lol

Currently driving back from CO to MD. Sailed an arrow over a 6x6 bulls back at less than 20 yds yesterday morning. But don’t worry I don’t fall apart on whitetail like I did that bull and should be good for another five points. Lol.

That's a heart-breaker there. I hunted elk for years when I was living in CO and never even got to draw back on a bull. Hoping to make it out again soon, but it's hard to stomach that tag cost for out-of-state.

Season opens here tomorrow...hoping to be able to get out and get some time out in the woods. Thinking of going Sunday- cooler, and rain likely, so I'm hoping it'll get some movement going and keep the pressure down.

Really needing the weather to cool off here. Didn't make it out last weekend, as I ended up with a bad ear infection, so that stunk...but this weekend is supposed to be in the mid-90's. I don't know about you, but I'm more a fan of cooking the meat myself rather than the weather do it for me. Not sure I can sit in that kind of heat and fight off the mosquitoes.

thats a bummer. we have great weather for our Sunday opener. plan to hug a tree sun/mon/tues. maybe i can luck into some points for our team.

akerns are loaded around here. may scatter them out. sometimes thats good and sometimes not.

good luck to everyone! let us know what you are seeing.

There is a section of public that opens Oct 1st before the rest of the state Oct 15th. I’m really wanting to make a weekend hunt out there opening day. It is 2 hours away and the kitchen remodel ain’t done so I don’t stand a chance. I’m itching to get in the woods though.

Do what I did. Spend your kitchen remodel money on a camper and then you have to put off remodeling the kitchen and are more comfortable on your weekend trip. There is a camper thread and of course the support thread to help you make the purchase. :)

The problem is all the money is already spent on the supplies so she’s asking why isn’t it done yet. So I gotta get done if I want to see any of the hunting season. Oh and also so she can start nesting soon or something.:tearsofjoy:

I forgot about the baby. I change my recommendation. Get the kitchen done while you still have money. You won't once the baby gets here. Plus, you won't have time to camp for at least a year or more.

But more importantly ALWAYS do what the pregnant woman asks. My wife will tell you I failed miserably at this when she was pregnant but, I consider myself older and wiser now (Or this might seem like a good idea now that we won't be having any more kids)

We have a warm-up on the way, it's supposed to be close to 80 degrees this weekend. Standing waist deep in a cool lake shooting at ducks seems appealing.

I didn’t realize 10/1 was a Sunday. I likely won’t hunt this opening weekend

Added 5 points fellers! Busted a doe with a heart shot yesterday afternoon, she ran about 40 yards and was my first kill self filmed! When I get the video all put together I’ll post a link so you all can tell me what ya think! God Bless
