Got my first saddle deer this morning. Nothing much, but happy to pop the cherry.

Got back from Alabama with a doe and one 50lb hog. I let several little bucks walk. Totally blew it and got winded on a nice sounder of pigs being greedy and trying to line up a double. Also blew it and didn't get a pic of the doe for the contest. Not to worry, I'll be back in Bama for the rut in January and will get another deer and a saddle pic then. In the mean time, get out there and kill some deer!

I settled on a a 2 1/2 year-old eight point in Indiana. He would’ve been in a 10 point next year, poor guy. I couldn’t ever get the big boys pinned down in bow range and time was wearing thin. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

Last time I got out I found a pretty good spot for does. Once I get the right wind I'll be back after it.

Still working on it. I haven't passed as many this year (only three young legal bucks at this point) but our local deer numbers are down this year. Its still a bit early to panic and start shooting does yet for me but I will come second archery season this year. Freezer is looking a bit bleak but I'm sure I'll be able to remedy it. :tearsofjoy:
 
We are in striking distance boys. Keep on em. I'll add a last minute doe when I go back to Bama next month. In the mean time, stack em up!! Good luck out there.

I'm going out this afternoon and probably one other day this week. Not sure when. My season is only past the halfway mark, and we have the whole rut ahead of us. I think I am about maxed out (for once, lol) unless I can get a better buck than the two I have gotten so far. We get one buck and one doe for the contest, right?
