Went to one of my two local spots that’s always good for a deer or five to hang a camera. Things look like they always have. Camera is really more for fun. Already sending pictures of deer moving through in daylight. So that’s fun. Killed a couple squirrels while I was there.

Looks like I won’t be able to hunt local until I leave for Missouri for first week of November. Usually have good luck there too.

hoping I can also either hunt Ohio or Indiana while I’m there for work after the Missouri hunt. I’ll have the truck packed.

getting really itchy and impatient and moody. I definitely need to get in the woods.

Got out tonight for a quick hang. I would say it was my best outing yet overall. Approach, climb, stealth we’re all much better than any of my previous hunts. Didn’t see any deer tonight, but I did see some in a field by some neighboring public as I was driving home, so I’ll try to do a little scouting tomorrow of that area. Haven’t been in there before.

Overall, it feels good to see improvement and I’m just enjoying the outdoors. I think this was my 9th hunt of the season.

How’s it going for the rest of you?

No kills but learned a little today. Fronts pushing in right now with some well needed showers. Was 83 at dusk and will be 52 at sunrise so tomorrow and Sunday should be on fire. I’ll post again as weekend goes even though my points don’t count I’ll still be knocking something down.. Here’s a few pics from this afternoon.

I’m awake I’m awake. Packed everything up to go hunting yesterday if y’all can believe that. Grabbing my stuff and headed to the water! Rewired my boat lights the night before last. I haven’t had much action on my cameras in a few days so I plan to scout a bunch midday. They should be scraping good now and just starting to rub. Not sure where I’ll set up just yet. 65 deg. And suppose to drop a little more midday today and more tomorrow. I have food for the whole day, wife knows where I’ll be. Lets see if I can make something happen. 08FF7344-1CCE-4B56-8D52-26E7F2675000.jpeg6B619ABB-608E-4D35-877C-ADC590E38939.jpeg

Got the old recurve out today on public. The boat ran awful. I managed to sputter in and get set up right at day break. Had a deer blow upwind of me so I'd imagine it heard me. Here's to hoping there is a deaf one somewhere around here.

Got out on the other public land where I spotted deer when returning from my last hunt and put a camera over a scrape. Had this fella saunter by later that night. Contrast isn’t good, but probably a 9 or 10 pointer.

I love this game we call hunting, haha!

2 does right out of recurve range. I’m set up on three or four hot oak trees

they had a bass tournament this morning and Ihad to fight getting in line for the launch. 20+ boats.

It’s good to see so many from team 5 in the woods!

My season opens Monday, timed perfectly with the cold front.

apparently team 5 is stacked with us recurve junkies!!
