Team 5 Thread

Was getting dressed at the tailgate this afternoon and realized my stick (which means my platform as well) was missing. Ditched the saddle and the bow, strapped the dove stool to my pack and grabbed my AR. Didn’t see crap.

So I’ve been getting after it the last few days but am taking today off from hunting to work. I have to admit I don’t really like the first few days of shotgun season. This is the only week that most people hunt and it’s rather chaotic in the deer woods. Granted there’s a lot of land here so it’s not like the woods are crawling with orange. But there are enough people in the woods that success is more a game of luck than the rest of the season. And this week the deer are on edge - smelling and hearing people in all the places they don’t usually go.

I like to crawl up in the thick stuff just like the deer in times like that

Me too - though around here there is SO MUCH thick stuff. It can be challenging to guess where to be. By the end of this week it gets a little easier - the deer will be anticipating rather than reacting and they will be in super thick stuff on sheer cliff walls, bedding in the shelter of glacial boulders eating the ferns that grow on the rocks.
